Aww, so many familiar stores that no longer exist. Such a shame.
Same, only about two that I don't remember visiting. Malls used to be THE place to be, quite funny how times have changedI been to most of them!

Very true, CA does have a LOT of people, so makes sense. Here when covid hit SO many places went under, Malls were already suffering and closing before that, but it was the death knell for all but two that I know of.The ones around here stay busy. I guess since were so densely populated the malls and online can co-exist in modern times.
Elsewhere even if only 20% of customers switched to online shopping, the stores would be doomed.
Very sad, I've seen pictures and documentaries of these places.Very true, CA does have a LOT of people, so makes sense. Here when covid hit SO many places went under, Malls were already suffering and closing before that, but it was the death knell for all but two that I know of.

Meanwhile over here they are remodeling them, building additions, etc.

Sounds like when they were booming everywhere and the turnover for stores and restaurants was decent.yeah, I noticed more food options at the malls too. New restaurants, food carts, etc. People still need to leave the house to eat out so those help keep them afloat.
I've yet to use DoorDash or Uber Eats or...the other one...forgot the name of it. Too busy penny pinchingOh wait.. they can just doordash food from those places in the mall.![]()

Exactly, I can't bring myself to pay so much more for a little bit of convenience. I have issues going inside of restaurants, but drive thrus I can do myself. If you love paying $50 for $35 worth of food, its great.![]()
A simpler timeEven though I wasn't alive in the 80's and early 90's, these videos are weirdly comforting!
Back to the 19xx trips to businesses:
The good ole' daysThe Mc Donalds in my local mall looked IDENTICAL to that one inside. #Memories
