The whole beauty of Twitter is the 140 character limit on tweets but why were direct messages (DMs) ever limited.

Well, now the social network’s developers have heard our prayers and from July on wards will allow us to go crazy when private messaging each other.

Twitter’s Sachin Agarwal wrote on their website: We’ve done a lot to improve Direct Messages over the past year and have much more exciting work on the horizon.

‘One change coming in July that we want to make you aware of now (and first!) is the removal of the 140 character limit in Direct Messages.’

You will need to play a little with your settings to enable this new feature, the instructions are listed here.

Do you use this direct messaging?

Woohoo! I have used it and the limit is annoying with DMs.
