Under-Age Sex

I have mixed views on this one. I can say I was 16 years old when I first did. I'm 17 now. When you've dated a person for two years, you get attached. I loved that girl. But then again, neither of us were stupid either. She was on the pill, and any time she's forget her pill, we'd use a condom just to be safe, along with pulling out. It's all perspective. Some people are ready for the maturity that goes along with sex; some aren't.

Everyone needs to take it at their own pace, but to say 16 years old or whatever is too young is unfair. Situations change; and like I said, we dated for 2 years. But some people, my age, I know bloody aren't ready.

Pulling out doesnt work.

While using a condom, the pill, and pulling out, I'd say chance are extraordinary

Just to be extra safe.

Think about it this way..

Condom has a 92% effectiveness

Pill has 99.9 When taken properly

Pulling out has a 75%

Altogether, odds are in my favor.

I don't really care, to be honest. I lost my virginity when I was 15. I'm 16 now and I haven't regretted anything. I've seen my fair share of pregnant teenagers (three off the top of my head in my school) and my opinion still hasn't changed. I know I'm safe (condom, pill). People have choices.

Exactly.

Nice fake stats. Lol..

Pulling out has a 1% chance of preventing pregnancy. I would know.

My graphic reasoning:

[spoiler:3mf25fga]Sperm can come out during, its called pre-cum and it only takes one sperm to make a girl pregnant.[/spoiler:3mf25fga]

Anyways, despite all the statistics, pregancy CAN happen. No matter what you do!

If you are ready for adult activities then you should be ready to support a baby and provide it with everything it needs and put a roof over its head. I doubt a kid could do all that.

Unless you are one of those kids who creates life just to kill it (by having abortions) because you only care about yourself and getting 15 minutes of pleasure once in a while.

You will spend 3/4th's of your life being an adult. Enjoy your childhood while it lasts!

Actually, I wasn't pulling a statistic out of nowhere.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coitus_interruptus

Failure rates

Perfect use 4%

Typical use 15-28%

Multiplied by the rate of contraceptives, and a condom, yes, I know the chances are there, but they are so minute it's not even funny.

If it all came down to it, I would be financially ready to take on the burden of a new child. I have won a few scholarships, lowering my money needed to actually go into law. I have closer to 30,000 saved of my own cash. I work at a steady job, 20 hours each schoolweek, which is still enough to earn 400+/wk. That is only part time.

I wouldn't ever think of killing it. I would do all I could to provide. I'm just saying, those chances are ridiculously low.

I think its becos of precocious puberty that is the problem.

Mix adult hormones with a kid's mentality and you get disaster.

Well there is a chance you could get her pregnant even with the low chances of it. Why mess up all your college plans just because you feel the urge to fulfil some physical urges?

Why not wait until you are an adult?

I know you are 17 which means you are almost an adult anyways, but I guess its a general statement for the younger ones.

Yeah. I agree with you in that sense. Like 13, 14.. That is too young. 16-17.. You are becoming more an adult. It's all maturity too. I act a lot mature than many people my age. Like I have just recently added some people from NowPlayingHere in real life, and all of them were super surprised a forum averaging 300 or so posts/day was administered by a 16 year old. It's all in the individual; but unfortunately, the ones who more or less thing they are ready, usually are the ones that aren't, and that's when teen pregnancy occurs.

I really think that precocious puberty is the real culprit here.

Becos if the body doesn't develop the urge to do..... it should be a fine childhood. But if you mix childhood with sex hormones. ya get disasters like abortion.etc.

I will making a new topic on this.

The age of puberty hasn't changed over hundreds of years. It's society. Society pushes drugs, sex, alcohol to teens.

This society pushes the need to mature to be an individual through the actions I listed.

If it's drugs, alcohol maybe but sex? If they are kids[where puberty has not arrived], they shouldn't be able to do it not to mention have the desire for it.

No they shouldn't. Underage sex in some countries is 18. Others it is 16. 15 year olds have hit puberty. Obviously, younger havent, and it would be stupid for them to just cause. But in countries where the age of consent is 18, how can you justify/prove that not one person that age of 17 does not know what love is, enough to show it to their boyfriend/girlfriend, whom they could have been dating for 4 or even 5 years. i think I'm going to step out of this thread soon. I've said all that I think. That, and bed time :/

Ok but even in Singapore there are cases of teens breaking the law....

The age of consent here is 16. I guess opinions vary a lot on culture. I remember even on example the texting and driving. You get a hefty fine in Singapore, and in Alberta, it's not against the law, and even when it is, it'll be like a 50 dollar fine.

The legal age to do it in Nevada (the state next to mine) is 16.

There is not a real difference of maturity levels between 16 and 18 year olds. They are both still going through puberty and hormones running wild. Both ages are just as reckless and irresponsible.

We should change it to 21 for everything!!!!

Just kidding.

You can fight for the freedom of your country at 18 in USA, but can't open a beer until you're 21. If you can risk your life on the line, why not risk your life having a legal beer at the same age.
