How could you survive without the media, the internet and a mobile phone for 24 hours?

This is a really interesting question.

Could you cope without the internet/mobile phone/media for 24 hours?

I know I wouldn't be able to. I depend on my phone to get me through being bored, since it has games on it. I couldn't live without the internet since I depend on it to check things up and such. I'm not to bothered about the Media though. I hardly read the newspaper, though I do sometimes look at it to see if there's anything interesting happening, though I do that on the internet.

Yes. Just give me a book

Same here. I love to read, but really, we don't need some of the technology that's out there these days. In fact, despite the fact I run a forum, there are still days when I feel like just shutting everything off and doing something quiet, like reading.

You just listed one of the reasons I like the web and don't have a cell phone

I was going to say I don't get it... actually, I still don't really. I don't really even use my cell phone a whole lot except for work related purposes more than anything.

Thing is you can turn them off if you don't want to be reached but people will complain about you not using your cell phone.

The thought of being able to seclude myself from everyone minus maybe a dozen people is comforting, to me. Rather control freak-y of me.

I have the innate ability to ignore someone

If I don't want to talk to them I ignore them and if they still don't get the hint then I put them off. By being very annoying and... annoying

I would say that I could live without my mobile, but I need it to contact friends if I'm ill or vice versa.

That works but I actually save time because people know they can't contact me

No way I'm always online, doing website work, chatting, solving code problems, designing and more so in a word. No way in hell could I live without all this and I'm very OCD with my web work due to I'll end up staying up till 3 in the morning as I prefer to have a website up in 24 hours at the most

I don`t watch tv so that would not bother me

my mobile is for my family to keep in touch

if i had to do with my mobile and internet

i would read a book or write a letter to a friend

You bet I could. There are still days when I hate my cell phone, and there are days when I come home and stay offline all night. I'd be perfectly happy just meditating and goofing around all night.

Depends if I am busy/have school and sports and etc..I probably could, but it would be hard because I like to text people.

Sure I could. Sometimes I don't use any media when I am really busy anyways (like working double shifts)...

Yeah, I've went 48 hours without phone, internet, or TV. When we stay up in the cabins on the lake, there's no cell phone service, no internet, and the TV never works lol So yeah, it's hard at first, but if you're doing something that gets your mind off of it, it's not bad at all. When we went to the cabins we fished the entire time, so without any distractions it was easy and relaxing.
