Vegetarians vs Meat Eaters

Humans do not need meat to survive, but we eat it anyway.

Also, you all that are against killing animals, you have to treat each living creature as equals... Meaning is you can't say killing a cow or a whale is wrong yet don't care if someone kills a rat or a ant because they should all be equals if you dislike one type of animal being killed you have to not want any living thing to be killed... If you care about whales and dogs yet don't care if people kills mice, fleas, spiders, etc. than you can just call yourself a hypocrite...

I care if someone kills a rat, ant, bug, etc. I don't like to see any type of animal being killed, hell, i save bugs from drowning in our pond, put spiders that come into our house outside, move snails off the pathways.

It may be extreme, but oh well.

I believe in free will, which means I'm not going to tell another person what they can and cannot eat. I will wat meat and do not want to be a vegetarian. I live in a farming community, and we all treat our animals pretty well.

I know that people can survive being vegetarians, but it's not good for you. you can get some of the proteins and vitamins that you need from fake n bake food, but it's better for your body if you eat meat. I'm not going to tell you that your view of things is wrong because I don't want you trying to tell me that I'm wrong and I have to change my views. (I'm not saying that anyone here would do that, it's just a general type of statement.)

Being vegetarian is not good for you if you do not do it properly. Also, I believe it suits some people better than others.

I have been vegetarian for over 14 years. I can hand on heart say, I am healthier as vegetarian than as a meat eater. I was always getting some sort of bug when I ate meat, since I went vegetarian, I'm almost never ill. If it was not good for me, after this long, I would certainly know by now.

I agree. I've noticed since i wasn't Vegetarian i used to get sick quite a bit, since the last year or so, I've only been sick once.

I have always taken care of myself but the fact is, I am healthier as a vegetarian. So I disagree with you prince, with me, not eating meat has helped my health. I'm not saying it would be the same for everyone, but with some people, they are healthier as vegetarians.

I disagree. Some people are healthier as vegetarians. I'm not telling everyone to be vegetarian, but the fact is, I personally am healthier as a vegetarian and you have no right to disagree with me when you don't know my medical history.

This is a debate forum. He is ok to disagree as long he's not flaming someone

I already said:

What they are trying to say is that there is no real proof that was the actual deciding factor that caused your health to improve. It could very well mean you are eating better but the presence of meat isn't the root cause but rather the reduced fat and cholesterol content which doesn't necessarily need to be reduced solely by not eating meat but by how much fat and cholesterol you take in among other things.

Getting sick has nothing to do with being a meat eater or not... I eat meat and I don't get sick much, you know why? Because I take care of myself and I don't use medicine.. My immune system is strong because I let my body fight illnesses that weren't life threatening instead of playing pawn and taking meds...

Who says i use medicine? Actually, it does, eating most meats is unhealthy, full of hormones etc from the quick growth of the animals, not good for the human body.

Maybe the food was bad, not cooked properly or some other reasons behind it?

What makes you so sure it was the meat and not anything else?

I'm pretty sure all of the years she was eating meat, every meal wouldn't have been bad.

For me, i could instantly see the difference when i took meat out of my diet, i started getting healthier, losing weight, and being generally better off. I think that tells you something, but, i guess if you never try it, you will never understand.

I didnt change anything else, in fact truth be told, I exercise less now than I did when I ate meat. And I eat more junk food (not that I eat a lot even now)

Oh and as I was 17 when I went vegetarian, I started to drink alcohol after I went vegetarian too.

Like I've already said, it just suits some people. I'm not saying everybody, cause we aren't all made the same. But it suits some people and I'm one of them.

1. Well, after you stopped eating meat, what else did you change about yourself?

2. Did you exercise more? Did you eat more of something that is healthy such as fruit and veggies?

What if someone wasn't a meat eater, kept on getting sick day after day and than decided to eat meat than that person stopped getting sick? What would you say to that person?

1. Nothing.

2. Nope, i just stopped eating meat, that is it, obviously i ate more vegetables etc, but that doesn't change the fact that the meat was making me very unhealthy.

I am sure it was the meat in my diet. Because AS SOON as i stopped, i felt better after a week, it shows you something.

There are no doctors on our site to diagnose anything and we encourage members not even try to be one. Unless they want to go to school for 10 years!

I don't need a doctor to tell me what my health was like when i was eating meat, and after i stopped and how it improved. I can tell that for myself.

Why are you trying to deny the fact that i am healthier without meat? I'm not going to name all of the meats i used to eat and where it came from. accept the fact that i am now healthy, and it was because of meat that i was unhealthy.

I think i know once i stopped i got healthier. You don't even know me, so you can't say anything about it. But, at the end of the day, I'm healthier, and I'm not going to change.

I don't think it was just down to meat... What else did you use to eat.

I changed my diet from Pasta, Potatoes, Rice, etc to a meat and fish diet and I lost alot of weight. Different people work different ways.

This is a debate forum and if you don't want people to argue your opinions then don't post in it.
