I can't believe I'm shocked they were selling Confederate merch to begin with...Like, really - the Swastika is illegal in Germany, so too should be an equally hateful symbol in the USA.

If everyone will look out the right side of the tram, you'll see an older, white gentleman who was blessed with slightly lighter skin who worked durn hard for everything he's got and therefore brought about everything that happened to him in his life up to this point. The white man can walk into a store without being followed. He can also purchase a home in an affluent white neighborhood where the HOA simply does not discriminate based on the color of his skin. He can also apply for a job without issue due to his common European surname and get a call back because he is "qualified" for the position.

Because even though we were a country divided these people were us and we were them. I mean this split up so many families that were fighting against each other. Lincoln recognized that from the very beginning and that is exactly why he did not retaliate against the south after the war but offered a hand of forgiveness.

A black person isn't going to experience the kind of racism an Asian person will, and a Spanish person isn't going to experience the same kind of racism the former two will. I beg of you to talk to the people of color, genuinely talk to them and shut up and listen, who have experienced racism in their lifetime. I do not deny racism still exists. All races have racists. What is absolute bunk is that it is some wide spread problem keeping people down in this country. The only thing slowing down success in this country is our own government. Racism is racism no matter what minority you may be or not be. And yet one of the smallest minority's from the Asian countries are the most successful in this country. And yet They don't whine and cry about some phantom on how society keeps them down but instead makes a success of themselves.
