One of my favourite musicians right now is violinist Mia Asano. A recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, she does mostly popular music ranging from folk all the way to metal (she just finished a tour with European rock string ensemble Two Steps from Hell that included an appearance at Wacken Open Air, one of Europe's largest metal and hard rock festivals). Like a lot of young artists today, she promotes herself heavily on social media. One of her Tik Toks even netted her an onstage appearance with German power metal band Dragonforce. The Tik Tok was of her playing the guitar riff from one of their biggest songs on her electric violin.

Here she teams with another violinist with heavy social media presence, Taylor Davis, for a medley of sea shanties.
