what happened at your school which was unacceptible?

Honestly I am just surprised that parents agree to have their kids be physically restrained by teachers and staff. I went to a sped school where it was common to be physically restrained if you were a danger to yourself and others. Looking back it just baffled me that parents are okay with this. If I ever have kids who end up in a sped school or sped class where teachers and staff physically restrain I'd not allow it. Also sped means special education.

Again, I am amazed that teachers and staff are allowed to do that at all in 2022.

In primary school I had a deputy headmistress decide to physically drag me by the arm down a corridor to my classroom because I was upset about being bullied, and her brilliant idea was to ask my class in an intimidating manner if they disliked me, which no one in their right mind admitted to so she just took that to mean I was full of shit. I was too young at the time to realise that what she did was very unacceptable.
Also in primary school I was crying one time in my first year and the teacher decided she would come opposite my desk and mimic my crying and told me to shut up lol

As for secondary school, the biggest thing I ever heard happening there was the new headmaster turning out to be a groomer and trying to do inappropriate things with female students. I really hated the guy for that not just because what he did was heinous, but also that he was the first new headmaster the school had had since it opened in the 70's as the original headmaster stayed at the school for almost 40 years, so this one guy immediately tarnished the school badly after the guy before him worked on getting the school to where it was when he took over for so many decades.

Didn't happen at school but my elementary principal pushed his wife down a flight of stairs. We had a new one shortly after. It was the last week of school too!

Makes sense to me. If they are a danger to themselves or others then thats what needs to be done. (For example) Lets say a kid obtained a sharp object, it would be fine for him to go around stabbing all the other kids without being restrained? I don't think so! Kids need to be taught that there is consequences for violent and harmful behavior and need to be prevented from doing it before they end up in the hospital or dead. It's for their own good.

That is horrible! Sorry you went though all of that.

Trust me, being physically restrained is not fun. I guess my teenage me is spilling out about how I felt about it. I do agree, yeah.

Edit: I am seeing articles where there's some controversy about it:

i remember a math teacher... mr smith. he would wander around the room and if someone was doing something s=they should be doing, he would wing something at them... like a blackboard eraser. he never missed. one time he threw a piece of chalk... REALLY hard... missed his intended target and smacked a girl right in the back of the head. made her cry!

i went to college at a state school in NE PA. game days (or was it day before) the jocks had STEAK with all the fixins for dinner. oh, that was GUY jocks only. it irked me that my dad paid just as much money as some football player's dad paid... not fair!

when i first started teaching, paddling was still permissible in PA.

Doesn't sound fair to me. I suppose now you can have all the steak dinners you want though!

P.E teacher was specifically like..mean to me for no reason. I have no clue why she was mean to me. It made me not want to go to school.
PE teacher who can't do whatever sport/activity the class is doing! had one PE teacher who would just pull out someone who played whatever sport she was "teaching" cuz she couldn't do it herself.
