Honestly, I thought the radius would be a lot bigger than what they're showing. Then again, who says the affects stop at the outer radius of the blast?

Such devastation, and destruction. Truly I'd wish this on no nation or city.

Jeepers, right?

To be honest, I'm actually curious about what it feels like to be caught in a nuclear explosion, somewhere in one of the outer rings where the blast wouldn't instantly kill you. Of course, I'm not too keen on the idea of actually finding it out (it's not like I could just ask one of the world countries that possesses nuclear weapons to detonate one for me anyway :P), but I'm curious about it anyway.

youve got to remember that the early bombs were very low yeild......hiroshima/nagasaki were under 20 kilotonnes............modern warheads are any thing up to 500 KT

Or, you know, the country being wiped out systematically by the powers that be in Tel Aviv.
*scratches head in thought* When they - and the rest of the Middle East sans' Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon - decide to recognize Israel's right-to-exist, I'll start worrying about the plight of the Palestinians...until then, they can go pound sand.

*dusts off thread* Given that several formerly hostile-to-Israel countries (especially Saudi Arabia, a/k/a "the Guardians of Islam") have relations with Israel now (one of the few good things Trump did), @identityissues8 might want to revisit his earlier comment about Israel.

To be honest it is also a lot smaller than I had realized it was. Not that I am wanting to downplay the devastation and suffering that happened as a result of it. Hopefully it is something we will never see again.

Little circle on the map but I'll bet people further out than what they circled would probably have some side effects as a result of the blast.

Yeah, some of the effects from the radiation impacting the next generation as well. At least I am pretty sure I remember hearing that. Haha doubting my memory as I type this.

Weren't a lot of people sterile after being exposed?

I remember documentary on one lady who helped out the victims and she had been diagnosed with cancer. Afterwards she was cancer free because of the radiation. One of the few good things to come out of the suffering. But I do fully agree with the actions taken to drop those bombs. It saved a hundred thousand American lives at least and we would have had to kill even more Japanese than the bombs did before they surrendered.
