I feel that only half of photography is taking the photos, and the other half is processing them on a computer to bring out fine details and make the photo perfect.
What software do you use to fix up your photos?
I love Apple's Aperture because of the breadth of control that it offers. For example, when I'm setting highlights and shadows I can not only adjust those levels, but I can also adjust the range which I want to fall into highlight or shadow region, as well as the radius around each pixel that I want the software to look at before changing a pixel's brightness. I can also change the saturation of the areas I'm playing with highlights or shadows with to bring out extra color in washed-out photos.
I know that Photoshop and Lightroom are other popular options with photographers. What do you use?
