Which family member do you ignore?

I mostly ignore my brother. In the past we haven't gotten along. He's pitted my mother against me on several occasions. If I do talk to him, I have to be very careful about what I say.....so he's just someone I prefer to avoid like the plague.

Used to be my brother until he killed himself now it's everyone. My sister's and I get along as long as there's an interface between us, my dad's an asshole and my mother is basically gone

Most of my family has passed away, the ones who are left hold resentment towards me for accepting some inheritance money. They thought I should have shared it with them. So my family pretty much consists of my daughter and brother these days.

Good thing you accepted it. Anyone, like my brother, who gets pissed about who gets what money doesn't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

Yeah these family members were never in my life too much to begin with. I only saw them maybe once a year on Christmas and on that day we'd make awkward small talk (about the weather or whatever). We were never really that close. Suddenly they showed a real interest in me when they heard I was getting some money. Told them that I am going to respect the wishes of the person who passed away and use the money to put a down-payment on a house. So that's what I did. I think I made the right choice. Had I divided up the money up 10 ways like everyone wanted me to do, I would still be renting and they still wouldn't be in my life.

I cut my grandmother out of my life almost 13 years ago. Back then I was still identifying as a woman, and was in a relationship with another woman. Needless to say my grandmother who's super catholic, made the remark that "There's something going on between those two" in a snobby way, while talking about my now spouse and I. There's no way she would accept me as a man now. xD So I decided to eventually stop talking to her. She's my father's adopted mother, and she used to say "I never wanted you" to my father growing up... All and all, she's a very toxic human being.

That's a disgusting person, you definitely don't need her in your life. You're in a loving relationship with someone you love, that's all that should matter.

My half brother. I feel bad about it, but he's got a lot of problems and my dad warns me to keep limited contact. I try not to reach out to him or have extended contact. He's had a rough, tragic life and has turned to drugs and steals, etc.
