Which forum software do you dislike the most?

As a user I don't really hate any forum software. I guess my least favorite as a user would be Vanilla.. and that is more due to my bias for the traditional forum layout .

I can't get away with Invision. It just feels too clunky, complicated and corporate to me. It doesn't feel user friendly at all.

Plain phpBB is pretty rough to use. Although SMF may be my least favorite as they have been around forever and at no point have I ever really seen a reason to suggest them as a software choice. They are not bad but just seem to have never offered something different.

Probably those ones that are just a list of topics (like vanilla). I like seeing a forum index with structure and organization.

SMF. I don't know what it is but I've never liked it.

Xenforo, really do not like it. Its too common now a days. All Xenforo forums look and feel the same.
Invsion is fresh, newly build and V5 thats coming is going shake forum software land for sure.

Tapatalk for sucking the life of other forum providers up.

Man, this is the truth right here. I have tapatalk installed on both my communities only because there is still a small percentage of people that use it. But they are sneaky little crooks. One time, they magically added a chat room for my community without my authorization. Then there was a Tapatalk community to go along with my community. I raised a little hell on with both of these issues, and I think many others did too because then they became optional "features" that I could turn off. They wanted to insert ads at one point to, which I think you can also opt out of.

And while it's been okay for the last several years, there use to be security holes too. Members who could NOT see certain forums or read certain topics by coming straight to the board could visit using Tapatalk and get their eyes in areas where they didn't belong. It took a lot of work and a lot of complaining to work around and/or get these issues fixed.

I have always had a large dislike for ProBoards, personally. Frankly though, there is a lot of software that amounts to a very generic forum.

That in mind, I hate anything that feels lacking in identity / like not a lot of heart or attention to detail went into its design. It's a major part of the forum experience to me.

I don't explicitly dislike forum software, but I am least attracted by Discourse forums. Maybe it's the the default layout divides access to fairly basic features by your level of activity and 'in group ness', which feels wrong to me.

I like the MyBB forum because I know how to customize it, and it has a lot of free add-ons and themes. Vanilla forums is my last choice due to hard to customize it.

I hate any that makes you set everything up by hand. 😂 I want to sign up, create a forum and get going. I don't want to host it myself, or play with packages, etc.

However, ProBoards is also a tie in for the worst software. Their staff have always been awful and rude. Not to mention their new versions take forever and generally don't even add a lot.

Also, one of the people who was a PB employee was the CEO's sister, who did nothing at all except be eye candy. Whenever she popped in on their support forum, people rushed to simp over her. There were rumors the CEO specifically asked her to participate and post pictures of herself (they had a "post your picture" thread)

From an admin standpoint I have only worked with Xenforo and quite like it.

As a user, I am still quite unhappy with the new forum software the current owners of my writing sites bashed out. Yep, wrote their own, maybe with something as a base. Still has all kinds of weird bugs and glitches after 3 years in service. E.g. if you get notified that someone liked a post and click on the notification, it won't take you to the post they actually liked and in some cases, takes you to a non-existent page in the thread (so you might be taken to page 2473 of 2472).

And Circle has been less than impressive (I am on one site that uses it) but not to the level of dislike.
