WHY?

Why do you go on forums? What's the point? What is the attraction for you? :)

Because social networking is lame? :P

Really though, forums allow you to interact with people from all over the world. The friendships and bonds created there make my free time a little more fulfilling. :)

I like the interaction, I suppose. Being able to meet people from all different walks of life and not being limited to the people that are near me. It also definitely lets me stay semi-productive in my free-time.

I forum because it's a nice way to meet new people and have interesting conversations. I can mimic what everyone else is saying as well, and sometimes you just wanna have a nice discussion, which is more difficult on sites that are more popular like blogs and tweets.

I find it fascinating talkin to all you peeps! :)

+1 for these kind words! NEVERMIND. Taking back what I said on this second post.

EDIT 27.02.2015. 'Nevermind' statement slashed out as well. I've moved on from it.

It's nice to shift through threads and posts when there's nothing to do or to take a breather during the day and shift my focus on something else than what is currently on my mind. And it's nicer more if you become friends with someone on the forum/s.

I enjoy talking with people and posting on people's threads. simple as that. :P

Habit, I guess.

I started "foruming" when the "Forums" were a dial up BBS on a 9.6 modem running Telix or (curse - spit) Hyperterminal.

Well, that and.... Miss Lady told me to.

It is amazing, after all these years, just mentioning Hyperterminal can cause some people to break out in the Fantods.

I started back in 2009 and now I can not stop!
I am addicted!

There's things people across the world know about me that my friends don't know of. I love foruming and the conversations that you can have with people all over the world and discovering things that are different here and there.

Meeting people on forums is always fun, always endless topics to discuss and it's just fun.

But... that's not really an answer to why you do it. :P

I really enjoy talking to people and therefore using forums to discuss my interests with other like minded people works very well for me.

I like politics and I've been a forum admin for so many damn years now...I don't actually know. It's sort of a hobby, a drive, and I love the anonymous interaction. That's my gripe with places like Facebook versus a forum....I don't need friends I haven't seen since elementary school judging what I think and what I say. The cool thing about a forum is....you might know me, I might know you, but offline we're still strangers - it's friends but with a fine line in between. :P

I just get to know many topics on forum which I never have searched in Google to know about them and in forums I come up to these topics accidentally and learn many things.

good question...........first forum i ever joined was an eye openner (i was new to the net anyway so that shows how long ago it was), was great 'chatting' with people around the world, at its height it was regular to have 500 members and 4000 guests on at any one time. by the time it closed i had hit over 80k posts. i then sort of got out of the habit of 'community forums', im a moderator on a model making forum which is kind of different, and im a memeber of four other modelling forums.................and a cat one lol

i think they are fun, can actually fill in a void when you are lonely

I enjoy interacting with people from all over the world. It's interesting to see how other people live their life.

Same reason for watching anime...To escape the crappy game known as 'Reality'.
