Why Food Prices Could Skyrocket If Kroger-Albertson Merger Goes Through

We don't really have Kroger around here at all. Albertsons is the same company as Safeway? We have Safeway all over but I don't shop there very often because they are really expensive! Safeway is good for when you need one or two items, but not to do your main haul.
Yeah, Albertsons and Safeway are the same as of about 10 years ago, maybe more. Kroger owns practically everything else you can think of
- Supermarkets – Kroger, Ralphs, Dillons, Smith’s, King Soopers, Fry’s, QFC, City Market, Owen’s, Jay C, Pay Less, Baker’s, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, Pick ‘n Save, Metro Market, Mariano’s
- Multi-department stores – Fred Meyer
- Dillons Marketplace, Fry’s Marketplace, King Soopers Marketplace, Kroger Marketplace, Smith’s Marketplace
- Price-impact warehouse stores – Food 4 Less, Foods Co
Yeah, Food 4 Less was one I knew in Texas, but here in AZ we have Fry's (not to be confused with the former Fry's Electronics, lol, always confusing!)Out of everything on that list I think I have been to a Food 4 Less
Yeah they had those all over the bay area, but now they're gone. They had more specialty electronics, kind of like radio shack. If you need a certain wire or miscellaneous part for your computer, fry's would have it. If you want a new keyboard or a new TV then you go to bestbuy.

I remember when regular antenna television was being phased out, had to go to Frys to get my free digital converter box to get those free broadcast channels.
Yep, I went there, too! Only thing I got lol
In Morganton we have a few chains (two national/one regional) that've stepped into our area over the past 20 years (that aren't Wally World, Food Lion or Ingles')....
