This morning's Windows 10 update on a computer I only use once or twice a week took....

over an hour to download, on cable broadband, and nothing else online on the machine....

THREE hours to install, with nothing else running....

Twenty Minutes, timed by the clock, to reboot after install.

And then, it has managed to turn back on all the annoy-ware (windows tiles, hints, Cortana, etc) that I'd turned off.

Eventually youll have to go to 11, I did on the computer im on now if I wanted to do everything

And it turned off at least a couple of things that I had used regularly for free & changed them to "pay-per-view". :angry2: ....and made a few more things still there, but more complicated to get to.:cautious:

My last desktop crapped out on me. The good news is that I found a desktop with Window's 7 laying around lol

It's annoying because my PC chip won't work on Windows 11, so sadly that PC is stuck on Windows 10 until I can upgrade it. My daughter's is fine and is running 11.

So OP is like myself and stuck on a Windows 10 EOL OS.

And people wonder why I switched to a Chromebook.... *points to all of the above comments* ...there you go.

I got tired of having to deal w/update after update - forced updates I might add - when I used both Windows 7 and 10 so yes, I'm happy to have a Chromebook. *glances over at @Nebulous* :P
