A horrific video has emerged of a grandmother being killed by a runaway supermarket trolley.

The accident, which was caught on CCTV, happened on Friday morning at Lianhua supermarket in Shanghai.

The 60-year-old, who was shopping alone, died from horrific injuries after being hit by the metal trolley at the Chinese store.

Was a freak accident. They should have bars (or something) at the top of this escalator. If they did, then a cart like the one used wouldn't be able to fit through the bars.

The men that overloaded the cart should be charged with criminally negligent homicide.

However, as it is China, who knows.
