It's never a good idea to bring a old thread back from the dead, it's better to let it die.

I can't believe this! The only way I can see this being a good rule is if it's an advertisement where the link no longer works or isn't affective.

Name one forum where you have seen this rule put in effect!

I have been on plenty of forums where the exact opposite is true, where you may bump up old threads if you have something to say.

Honestly, all you're doing is chasing away potential members. There are quite a few forums where you may bring back a topic if there's something you want to add to it.[/quote]

Hm..

MUGEN Guild,MUGEN Infantry,starmen.net, amongst various other forums.

The rule is there, because I don't want someone to be bumping a very old thread with something stupid like LOL, This thread is old or something like that.

Ive never seen anyone do that.

Usually when people bump a thread, they are adding their opinion or input to the topic.

Well, leave it there if you like, then, but don't be wondering if someone complains that they can't add their 2 cents in. Personally, I think it's a rather silly rule, to be honest but to each his own, I guess.

Silly?

It's a common rule on many forums, that I go on is that if a thread is really old, leave it alone and let it die or start a new one.

You have never gone on any serious forums. You only seem to appear in childish, fun and pathetic forums.

I go on forums, where necroposting earns you a warning.Where n00bs are not always treated right.

You are too into your little, childish fantasy world and not enough into reality.Grow up.

This thread has gone on long enough.

Luigi, be respectful of other members. If you cannot handle other people's opinions, do not ask for them.
