The great chill isn't over yet. A stretch of the country from Northeastern Montana to Northwestern New York were under a windchill advisory Friday night, and the cold temperatures would continue through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

States surrounding the Great Lakes could expect temperatures to fall 15 to 25 degrees below average on Saturday and Sunday. New England and New York will also be affected by the front, with Northeast New York, readying for up to five feet of snow, according to Weather.com.

Separately, parts of Texas were under winter weather warnings and advisories, and western and mid-Texas should brace for icy roads Friday night and Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

By Monday, the wet wintry weather will be even more widespread, hampering the commute in cities from Louisville to Boston. Sleet and freezing rain will be the main threats in the beginning of the work week, according to Weather.com.

A number of deaths have already been blamed on the frigid temperatures across the country, from exposure and weather-related vehicular accidents and pileups. On Friday, one person died in a 123-vehicle pileup in Battle Creek, Michigan, that involved a semi-truck carrying fireworks, Michigan State Police Lt. Rick Pazder told NBC News. Another person died in a separate pileup in Washtenaw, Michigan, according to NBC affiliate WDIV.

Thoughts?

Oregon weather is so boring and temperate. Maybe that's why everyone is moving here. I wish I could experience that kind of weather once or twice.

*adds deadpan* ...so much for global warming...

This horrid weather is headed right towards me for Monday into Tuesday afternoon. This is the coldest winter here in over 10 years. They aren't even saying how much snow & ice accumulation to expect. The only thing they are saying at this time is to expect below zero temperatures and winds that can make it feel anywhere from -35 to -50.

climate change and messing with the atmosphere can cause changes in the yearly cycle...

Changes in the yearly cycle have been happening long before we were here. It is called perfectly normal climate change.

but humans are causing more change then the norm...

I'm still suffering the repercussions, on the positive side my power bill is down to $520 this month.

No there not. When we have 1000 foot ice glaciers tearing across North America then we have reached no worse then what has happened in the past. Until then global warming is the biggest hoax the left have ever created turned into a fanatical religion.

Liberty's right on this one, Justice: climatic changes have been occurring throughout most all of recorded history (and probably before that as well). Have humans affected the climate at times? Odds are, yes...but, over the long-term, not so much; as bad as some make out man's effect on the climate, all you'd need to have happen to get some really big climatic changes going would be to have a Krakatoa-level volcanic eruption take place.

Just go back and look at what happened following Krakatoa - the next year or two following are considered some of the coolest years in recorded history and man didn't have a damn thing to with it. FWIW, I'm of the opinion, Justice, that climate change and global warming are nothing more than ways for the Radical Left to control as much as human society as possible by restricting the freedom of individuals to live as they so choose.

no, with human's technology, the humans are directly involved of helping in climate change, and yes climate change is real...

Sure, climate change is real....and the climate geeks haven't been fudging the data for their own benefit as well, right?

And yet there is not a single amount of truth of any global warming they have predicted. But plenty of proof of decades of falsified data. Again show me the 1000 foot ice glaciers ripping across America like once happened and then I will consider the crap that is man made global warming
