I am not there yet!! ...but my mortgage is pretty affordable since I put such a large down-payment down.
I live/own in the house my grandma and grandpa lived. They build it! Been here all my life really. Caught my 1st fish down the river and learned how to drive here. My 4 kids all grew up here as well. My grand kids all come here and love being here.

Thats cool! Its rare to see houses passed down from generation to generation these days. Who are you going to leave the house to when you're not around anymore?
The way we do it, the 1st boy of mine gets it. If he doesn't want, then it will be my 2nd boy. My girls are next if he doesn't want it. If none of my 4 kids don't want, then my grand kids are next.
Thats awesome, hopefully nobody who inherits it will sell it! Better to keep in the family.
We have had talks about what we want to happen. The 4 kids have moved out and they all miss it a lot. Maybe they miss me paying for everything the most. lol
That's a beautiful thing. You have lucky kids. I'd love to pass my house down to my kids when I pass. Give them a good start in life and not have to worry about mortgage stress.

Is the house all paid off or do they still have a mortgage?
It's paid off. We agreed that it was fair that I help pay the property tax and house insurance. That's why they're making pay so much a month. I'm not actually paying rent.
