How do you like your steak?

Medium-rare with hash-browns & a salad, please.

Medium rare if I ever eat one

How do you normally order your steak? What do you like to have as sides?
Medium rare, if that.
As for sides: steamed veggies, rice, sauteed mushrooms and onions, etc.

Medium Rare. There is no other way to have it :)

I don't. Strict vegan.

Medium. I used to order steaks medium rare but some people think that means raw/completely rare. Lol. Medium to be safe.

Medium well, and potato wedges or French fries depends on my mood

Cooked. Thoroughly cooked.

In fact, even if you think it is done, I want you to flip it and cook it again. Burn it if you need to, I just dont want my steak eating my sides before I get a chance to eat it myself..

That is just my personal preference, and it is the origin of many odd looks I get at steakhouses and restaurants like The Capital Grille. They once served me a Delmonico steak with creamed spinach and lobster mac and cheese, and by the time the plate got to my table, the steak had already eaten half of my creamed spinach. So they gave me another order and took the other one back.

With the price of beef being obscene lately, I can't tell you the last time I had one.

Treat yourself. I got 2 steaks at the grocery store recently for $22... The same 2 steaks would have been around $12 a while back.... But I was in the mood for a steak so I splurged. They were damn good too.

Cooked. Thoroughly cooked.

Is that how you order it? Or do you just say "well done?"

I ("-cook-") my own steak on a !!!!!!!! HOT !!!!!!!!!! (as in "Kilauea's Madam Pele would be jealous") cast iron griddle, loaded with sizzling and quickly browning/burning butter, for about ....... that.... long on each side.

That is, if it is good quality, reasonably marbled, and of known providence (not 'mystery meat from Walmart).

Meanwhile, my wife's -SUPER WELL DONE damned near burnt cooked until the devil himself would think it is over done- steak has been in another skillet for twenty minutes. and turned over three or four times.

Lesser cuts of 'beef' may be subject to everything from a longer time over heat to being subjected to the absolute horrors of the Instant Pot pressure cooker for however long to render the meat of some old army mule more or less edible.
