How many forums do you own?

-sighs-

1.) HTWC (wrestling forum, started in 2007, ended sometime in early 2008 - free-hosted version of phpBB)
2.) TWC / The Madness Forums (wrestling forum, started in 2008, ended in the Fall, then from 2009 until sometime in 2010 - free hosted version of IPB)
3.) TWF (wrestling forum, started in 2008, ended in early 2009 - self hosted version of IPB)
4.) Main Event Madness / Exarian / We Talk Forums (general discussion forum, starting in 2010, then ended sometime in 2011ish- self hosted version of vBulletin)

My track record is a train wreck and I recognize it.

For what it's worth, all of my forums were always connected in some fashion. When I went from the free-hosted version of phpBB to IPBFree, it was because I was becoming more educated and acquainted with what was available and what worked. Back then, the idea of a free forum / website was still a really cool concept. Thereafter, TWF was a merger between TWC and another wrestling forum. I merged with a close-friend and we began an ongoing relationship of self-destruction, :p.

The relationship he and I had was messy sometimes. I took myself too seriously. I was insecure and childish (in my defense, I was a teenager). I simply had no chill at times, always trying to grow and obsessed over it.

He, on the other hand, had real life problems and issues to contend with. He had a serious medical condition (resulting in dozens of surgeries). I understood that, even then. However, he had this thing where he would have surgery and disappear for months at a time and wouldn't tell me he was having surgery, or where he was, or what had happened. I wouldn't know if he was alive or what was happening, and I genuinely cared about the guy. Still do. I didn't hate him for it, but it made running a forum / something I took very seriously, hard to do.

For the most part, I have been out of the forum game (I am working on something else at the moment though). Instead, I have largely stuck to a writing website and a review website, and I have maintained them both fairly well.
