Thats cheap. Mine is over 4x times that amount and usually goes up a little bit each year (it has these last 5 years I've owned my house)
I do not own a home though I live with my boyfriend and he owns his home. I do help him with the mortgage but it is under his name.
I don't know if I'd ever own, on one hand it can save you a bit of money to own in the long run but you have a lot more responsibilities.
