Banned Members Wanted!

This is very strange so I thought I would share it with all of you. A few years ago, myself and several other members received a forever ban all in the same day. Never really understood it and tried to ask Admin why we were all banned forever. The Admin never responded and all of us moved on to other forums. I just got an email from that forum. They said they are lifting all forever bans and would welcome me back with open arms. I emailed the others that were banned the same time I was and sure enough, they all got the same email message. The forum Admin/Owner is the same as when we were all banned. BTW, I am NEVER going back there.



What are your thoughts on this?

Well... assuming there were also a couple of people there banned for a legitimate reason, it seems like a really bad... and kinda desperate idea.

I would log back in simply out of curiosity as to what might have prompted the change in heart. Somehow I feel it's a desperate attempt to revive a dying forum but you never know for sure till you log in and see what's going on.

@EE: There were plenty of people there banned for a legitimate reasons. This place was the drama capitol of all forums. The fighting and name calling was non-stop with most of the people who got banned.

I would not go back to a forum where I'd been banned without any reason.



Perhaps the number of posting members has dropped very low and the Admin

is trying to get the numbers back up. If that's the case, then he/she has a cheek

contacting you after treating you like that before !



Or perhaps it's just a case of a 'change of heart', but even so, I still wouldn't

go back.

I don't need to log in as what I see viewing the forum as a guest makes me *shudder*

Ah that's basically what I meant by going back. I wouldn't be able to not go back even as a guest to see what was up. I suppose curiosity would have got the best of me on that one.

Flaming and trolling by moderators against members they don't like. There are several cliques and if you dared post in their threads, they would cuss you out. That's just to name a couple of the things that were and still are going on. I hate drama and steered clear of it. Maybe that's why I got a forever ban!

There was one website that I recently got unbanned from along with everybody else, I don't understand why because the site was and still does have a tremendous following. I got banned for one of the stupidest reasons as well, I was doing an affiliation with some guy, meaning that it should've been a simple, I put your link on my site and you do the same, but he assumed that it meant he could spam up the inbox's of my members with his messages and his link. I assumed that there was a misunderstanding and genuinely tried to stay calm about it by telling him that I didn't make the affiliation for him to do that because I'd never do that, and he banned me. I give him the benefit of the doubt and I am thinking the reason he unbanned so many people is because I realized he was in the wrong but I still haven't talked to him since, it was like two or three years ago.

Desperate, pathetic and tacky ... I wouldn't go back either. However, I'd reply to the email and have fun with it.

I have ignored the email and blocked them from sending any more. Sorry, but I will not disclose the name.

If I was to ban a member and then think about it being unfair I would send an email to the person explaining it wasn't fair and what I can do on my part to get them to come back... maybe offer them something as a 'sorry'.

If it's where I think it is, then you're wise not to go back. There were nice mods and foul mods and the foul mods have taken control. That place usedta be a lotta fun, it's dull as ditchwater now. Most of the threads are tome's based on religion or fluffy rubbish!



The thing I find saddest is when all your mates move to different forums and you lose touch. However, lots of them can be found on facebook. Btw Jazzy, did you know Jimbo was getting married? *sweet*
