there you go.......Lotus 7 club racer from late '60's......42 hours from openning the box to final pics..........what takes the time is allowing paint/clear coat/glue to dry before being able to progress to the next stage........all down to job management and little dodges to speed things up
evilgrin.gif
........its not how i like to build, i like to take time and tweek things but it was still a fun exercise to speed build like that

i normally take a week or two
biggrin.gif
.....whole exercise was to do something in 48 hours which is a bit of a squeeze unless you do a few cheats
evilgrin.gif

Sorry if you answered this before but I'm just wondering how many of these do you have and where do you store them?

how many?....no idea
tongue.gif
.....some of my old ones are boxed up and stored away

where they are kept?...........i have the spare room to do my model making in, my partner dosnt want them in the living room
icon_mad.gif
so i have 2 Ikea display cases in there......they are about full at the moment....i will take a pic later

currently i have about 150 unbuilt ones stored in the loft
evilgrin.gif

Oh my goodness 150 is a lot to keep you busy
laugh.gif
Do you have a favorite one?

not really...some have special meaning tho.......im on a forum where i have been for 5 years and i did a threrad where i built cars and bikes which rflected the online personas of people on the forum

the pink chopper was the first......for someone from NC whos username is Southern Belle..........she likes the biker/redneck/rebel type of thing but admits she will never be able to afford a bike of her own so i thought i would build her a custom............it kind of snowballed and i ended up doing about 30

the black chopper with flames was for Dr.DeathZ

the Mini was for Redred as he loves mini

the truck was for a mod in Australia

the paddywagon was for all the mods, since they are the site 'police force'
rofl.gif

the beer truck was for a guy in scotland (glasgow celtic logo on the side
wink.gif
) who likes his booze

the e-type was for a guy in mexico who loves the british way of life

theres loads more
biggrin.gif

That's very cool and I just love your models!
clap.gif

i mainly build cars and bikes and some aircraft but do try other stuff every now and then

any battery in the pic is aaa size to give a sense of scale

im a member of one modelling forum where the idea is 'what if?'..........think up some alternative history and make a model to reflect it

this is an F16 of the Republic of Texas Air Force...............after Texas and a few other states leave the Union and form the New Confederate States of America in protest against Obamas policy on relaxing restrictions on Mexican immigration

its about 8 inch long

of50jl.jpg

aw3s6o.jpg

i have a long running Alternative Time Line where WW2 went differently........Axis forces over run europe.......British Commonwealth continues fighting........America becomes isolationist and forms the Continental Amercas Treaty Organisation with most other central and southern american countries......cold war tween Axis and Soviets (soviets beat Japan and occupy former japanese Empire)

Australian Harrier at the Battle of Casabalnca 1986

RAF MiG 15 1954

Oooh I love the planes. What else do you make?

i will have a go at any thing really,...........ive just started my first ship
blink.gif

nah..............but i might have to empty one just in case
rofl.gif

How long have you been making models and what was the most challenging one?

*Still waiting for a pic of the display cases*
icon_e_geek.gif

my first ship...........i will admit this was hard!.........a very old Airfix kit of HMS Fearless which was a Royal Navy assult ship........took part in the Falklands war and even appeared in a Bond movie

not my best work i will admit but it was a trial to see what ship kits are like as i am planning a largish scale C-3 freighter and the Bismarck

usual aaa battery for scale

lets see.........i built models as a kid..........mostly planes and tanks.....stopped when i got to about 15......had other things on my mind then
wink.gif
.............when i got divorced 4 years ago and wound up in my own place i found a long forgotten kit whist sorting stuff out.........thought i would do it to occupy some time and was hooked again after a 30 year break

as for most challenging one?............the truck was quite challenging simply due to the size of the thing and the high parts count........the e-type jag was a challange cos of the union jack paint job and at the time i was new to using an air brush....but every one i do has a challange of some kind to over come, just that some are bigger than others
laugh.gif

i will take some pics of the show cases......i forgot
tongue.gif

The ship came out awesome!
