Elite Membertheir was a muslim kid at our school, and some of the other kids used to give her food during ramadan. sadly, they forced her in to it, and she had the food- and the bullies just went back for more.
I had to deal with a lot of bullying because of my incontinence and my scars- also because when it was the end of school, everyone's mon's came to get them, and I didn't have a mom come for me. used to drive the kids wild with laughter.

That's awful! Kids are so mean!
I've had a few bullies in life, for various things that I had no control over. I was a nerd, I was a redhead, I wasn't masculine, I wasn't confrontational...someone always had to take issue.

Yes they can. Sometimes worse than kids. Just depends what ammo you give them, and sadly, I give them a lot to work with!

There was bullying when I was in school. I'm 38 now so that was a little while ago.
I was bullied until jr. high when I finally stood up for myself.
I fought a bully after school, won the fight, and that ended that.
Nowadays, everyone goes to jail for that.
But bullying these days are done on social media where it can become viral and a lot of peers are involved. We've dealt with this with the teenager. It ended with a threat to get the Sheriff's Office involved. Bullying these days can lead to mental health problems and suicide. You got to stop it right away.

100% agreed, you have to be careful with kids/teens and social media, they'll run into things that can get very serious very quickly!

Indeed, since I am sort of an undercover LGBT in most situations, I get the privilege of hearing all the horrible things regular straight males have to say about LGBT people. Its pretty sickening sometimes.
Nah... My little cousin got in a few fights and he's in jr high and never been arrested. The school just suspends everyone, sometimes not even that.

Yeah, when I still had that particular privilege I heard those same disgusting comments and stories. The names they come up with, the fake "facts" they manage to drum up...it's just awful the way ignorant people think! Now that I'm on the other side of that conversation it's just pure hatred, lol.

Yeah, people definitely do suck. I really hope that one day we'll be beyond hatred, but it feels like such a distant goal, all things considered.

I look forward to the day when people can just be people. You're right, we'll be one of, if not THE last generation to carry that ignorance and hatred along, but there is hope on the horizon, and I am thankful for that. If people can be themselves in the future and not be hated for it...that's so worth the struggle now.

I was bullied through out grade school. I was in fights with other kids all of the time and I got molested on the school bus by another boy who was bullying me and CPS got involved. IN the 6th grade I was put in a Catholic school where kids took turns hitting me in the arm and face on the school bus, so my mom switched me to parent pick up. Through out Middle School kids assumed I was homosexual and ostracized me. It was mostly name calling and other kids threatening to beat me up. In high school, I only dealt with one bully and we got into a fist fight to which I was arrested and charged with assault on school grounds because I was 18. He was not charged with anything because he was 17.

That's awful, I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that! I understand completely, minus the fights, I would take but never give back. There are some truly awful people in this world.

If I ever found out my child made another child feel this way I’d be seriously upset and heartbroken.

was shy with pop bottle glasses. In 5th grade some girl started picking on me out of the blue. Like I didn't know WHY she was even talking to me or bothering with me at all. It was just weird. She would call me names. Or sit behind me and kick my chair. Then one day she came over and started saying things to me and I didn't even know how to react or what to think and she literally just up and slapped me across the face. I was so stunned I don't even think I cried. Then the Principal got involved and she said that I TOLD her to slap me. I was like "why would I say that, that makes no sense". Then after that I don't really know what happened but it seemed to quiet down.

I am sure karma got those bullies and now they have miserable lives. I don't wish that on anyone but thats usually how it works out for them.

Indeed, a lot of bullies probably work low-paying jobs or have dealt with some type of abuse as an adult. The world keeps spinning.

I had bullies once... had one try to push me off the third floor into the courtyard...
fortunately at the time I'd been learning martial arts so I stopped myself from something very lethal. not much happened after that, I dropped out, got my GED, had my home searched for WMD's after being called racist by the vice principal... weird times.
more recently had a family member be physically abusive... it didn't really work because martial arts but jealousy is a strong motivator no matter how many punches get deflected and times the person is thrown.
it unfortunately got into a legal battle but I've not a permanent restraining order so it's no longer an issue. If only they'd dropped it when their punch was deflected and were tossed onto the couch the first time...
If you're ever being bullied I highly recommend starting with tai-chi. It's good for focusing the mind but more importantly it's a purely defensive martial art, when sped up it deflects punches, kicks, etc and can be combined with multiple fighting styles to suit your tastes.
and hey... they have to give up sometime right?
