They don't answer direct questions. They just say: "We are aware of the problem." Then hang up!

if i had blackout, i dont have backup power for my modem as the battery would cost extra. i think its 10 or 20.00 a month. damm comcast

My computer is on a surge protector. I've had modems in the past (before the surge protector) blow out.

Why dont you just buy a computer? They are very cheap nowadays, you could probably get a refurbished one from newegg.com, bestbuy or wal mart for under $200.
