Yea, this is the first Christmas away from my parents and family. They disowned me in recent times. But most years, I'm there with my kids on Christmas Eve and with so much feast and celebration.

But this year, I'll be with my pregnant girlfriend and her kids and they don't really do anything festive, so thats all new to me.

Why are you disowned?

I don't really care about all the festive stuff, I just like that people in general are a little less rude and self centered during this time of year.

@Nebulous - 'Cause they liked her and shes the mother of their first grandchildren and they are strong believers, that I should find a way to make it work. If it didn't work after six years, it's never gonna.

My kid's mother is full Italian so her family is all about family, my dad is full Italian so he is all about family. All about strong decision and choice making.

I'd rather be a lone wolf with my cubs anyways.

Disowning your own son because you disagree with something doesn't sound like "all about family" to me. Your parents could still have a relationship with you and your ex regardless.

My parents own a cottage in Norton, Vermont, Jazzy.

I grew up going to Vermont all summer, every summer.

Seymour Lake, we had a cottage on as well.

Derby is a nice little town, use to go to the Mcdonalds there and the gokarts.

Also use to ski down there alot too at Jay Peak.
