In light news, I finished Slender: The Arrival on the PlayStation 3, and I honestly hated it. I expected to like it so much, but everything about it was just mediocre or through the motions.

Never heard of it, sorry it didn't live up to your expectations though. On to the next one?

Fatal Frame - It's a Japanese Survival-Horror for the PlayStation 2.

Basically, Slender: The Arrival is a sequel and/or remake to another video-game called Slender: The Eight Pages that was released exclusively online. The lead antagonist is a mysterious figure named Slender Man that was created on message boards and over the internet. A lot of people told reinterpretations of this fictitious ghost-like creature, and before long, we had some modern-day folklore seizing a considerable cult-following. The video-game has you walking around collecting pages and information meant to piece together the plot, but it really doesn't succeed that well. There isn't really much of a coherent narrative to speak of, it all just kind of runs together without one singular tone ever clearly being established. It brings to mind other first-person horrors, but doesn't really contribute anything new. The game-play is repetitive and tedious, but even more astonishing is the fact that I finished the entire game in less than two hours. Considering that I bought it while it was on sale, I still feel cheated for having spent $8.99 for it, and there is no way in hell that it's worth the $14.99 they usually charge.

So how about being full-time writer? You'd probably need to start out part-time, but hey, anything's possible. Especially using the internet: once you get going, crowd funding should earn you a pretty penny.
