That's what I do nowadays; I bought an off-grid washer-dryer combo....

...and wash most all of my clothes (I hand-dry my compression stockings; everything else either dries outside or in the dryer harlf of the above combo).

I haven't come across this combination before, but I haven’t looked into it much.

I have an old dryer that still works great, though newer models might have more features. We mostly hang our clothes out to dry, so I use the dryer infrequently.

I used it more when my son was in school because I often needed to wash his uniform at night, and it sometimes didn’t dry by morning.

Recently, I looked into washer-dryer combos, even though I’d rarely use the dryer. It's good to have, but I found that the washing performance on these isn’t great

The main reason I considered it is that my laundry room is small.

Currently, the dryer is mounted above the washing machine, and having a combo will free up wall space for shelves.
However, unless I find a model with good washing performance, I’ll probably will not get any like this since the dryer isn't a priority.
Anyway, I was thinking of making that change when my washing machine eventually dies.
