Death Penalty

Yes, I think they should bring it back for Murder, Rape and Terrorists

No. Do you have any idea how many innocent people that have been put to death for crimes they did NOT commit? Not to mention it costs way more to put them to death than it does to keep them locked up. I think the loss of freedom for the rest of their lives is far harsher punishment than the death penality.

Yes and No. Yes becasuse, I beleive in a life for a life, but only in certain circumstances (i.e. mass murderer who killed like 19 people) and the horificness of the crime, but they should ONLY be killed once all the evidence has been gone over by at least a number of different independent specialists, to avoid killing innocent people. But like Jazzy says, too many innocent people have been killed for crimes that they haven't commited, and it costs governments much more in compensation than keeping the 'murderers' alive, so No. But it does seem unfair an those who have lost someone loved becasue they were murdered, have to live with the knowladge that the murderer is still alive and their loved one isn't.

Yeah Ive never gotten that. A bullet in the head is a inexpensive and humane way to execute someone in my opinion as they die instantly. No need for all the costly methods of putting people to death we have currently.

However I dont think people who have committed crimes severe enough to deserve the death penalty should be given a humane and quick death.

To be honest, depending on what your religion is, whether you believe in hell or not, for the sake of argument lets say we don't believe in hell, if I committed a crime as a punishment I'd see justifiable for me to be imprisoned for a very long time as opposed to simply killed but that's just me.

Religion has nothing to do with laws and govt.

I think the punishment should fit the crime personally. We can rid the earth of a disgusting individual rather than give him/her a heated / air conditioned place to live where he/she gets fed and is allowed social time with other inmates. Even cable tv, books and other luxuries.

They dont deserve it and we (as taxpayers) should not have to pay the bill.

No, i don't believe in the death penalty. Here in the UK, we don't have this.

But i don't believe in it though, because murderers and rapists etc shouldn't have the quick way out, they should honestly be kept in cell, and have the key thrown away.

That's my honest opinion.

Thats my oppinions right there!

I am not sure about this one, maybe for extreme acts like terrorism but I am not sure, I would rather them spend the rest of there life in prison.

In the words of Ann Coulter If the death penalty doesn't work, why is it that Kieth Olberman is still alive & I'm not on death row?

I am against it because I believe that no human should kill another human. Someone is going to have to put the offender to death. They will have to pull the switch or push the button, etc.

get rid of the luxuries that Nebulous talked about and leave them locked up, the death penalty is not necessary, it is a far worse punishment to be locked up, as many others have pointed out

I 100% agree with Jazzy on this one

So Nebulous; how much experience have you had with the insides of prisons? Ever visited people who are inside? Had a loved one locked away and heard firsthand accounts of what prison is like?

No I havent actually, but they do get the things I mentioned.
