all my audio is distorted, its not because of my headphones or speakers, can some one please tell me why?

Does the distortion decrease when you turn the main volume control down? That's the volume control in your system tray and not the one n your speakers or headphones.

Are you using onboard sound or a separate sound card?

Whatever the case, try uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers.

When did the problem first occur?

Have you recently installed any new hardware or software that might have caused the problem?

FIXED!!!

damn computer thought i had surround sound, so elements of my audio were being played out of nonexistent speakers
