Dreams Can Come True

Kind of disappointed with this chapter. If Andy is so nasty and dangerous, it's hard to believe that he would not run or put up a fight. Instead, he willingly gets into a car with John who he does not know and is not armed. Would have more believable if John had had a weapon and forced Andy into the car.

Still love the story and can't wait to read more!

That chapter was rubbish, I will admit but I wasn't sure where to go with it.. I'm sorry it wasn't very good.

That chapter was not rubbish. It just needed a little more believable action in it. I'm loving your story and you will find a way to get this back on track. Perhaps, Andy gets out of jail and starts stalking John & Sarah?

Sitting in the kitchen together drinking coffee and eating biscuits, John and Sarah were sitting in silence. John was still getting over the fact he'd upset her so much, it hurt to think she'd sat here worrying so much about him. He'd been so stupid! 'Look babe, I told you I was sorry and I truly am. I don't know what else I can say to make it up to you.' John pleaded. 'You still went behind my back and almost got yourself hurt, or worse.. Killed.' Sarah replied standing up from the breakfast bar. 'I know what I did was selfish and I know what I did upset you, but I am truly and utterly sorry, I really am.' John replied choking back tears.

'I don't know where to go from here.. I don't know if I can trust you with things I tell you any more..' Sarah replied. She stood with her back to him, tears trickling down her chin. 'I don't know where to go from here.' She continued. 'Please babe, I'm sorry!!' John pleaded, his voice breaking. 'I don't want to loose you, I need you.. I LOVE YOU!! Please forgive me, I wont do it again, I promise!' John replied. 'I don't know..' Sarah replied. 'I trusted you with my secret, I trusted you not to do any thing stupid and you went barging round there, like a bull in a china shop and comfronted him. You know, I was perfectly capable of sorting out my own mess!' She replied. 'I know and I'm sorry.' He replied standing up and walking towards her. 'I think its to late.' She sobbed. 'Nooo, I'm sorry!' John sobbed.

He collapsed on the floor in a crumpled heap and began to cry. He didn't want this to happen, she meant the world to him and he didn't want to see her exit his life. Not now, not ever. 'Look, give me one more chance, I swear to you I'll never do that to you again. Please.' He pleaded tears streaming down his cheeks and onto the lino floor in the kitchen. 'Please, just go. I need to be alone.' Sarah asked nicely and pointed to the door. 'No. We can sort this out.' John replied. 'Give me some time to think about what's happened.' She asked him. 'OK. If it means we may be able to save this.' John replied. He rose from his feet and left, closing the door behind him.

***

Sitting in his car, with his head in his hands, John broke down in tears and cried. He was on the verge of loosing her, the one person he loved more that anything. Because he'd been so selfish, she was slowly slipping away and it was all his fault. 'Why did you go and do that, you selfish pig!' He thought to himself, slamming his hand on the steering wheel. Staring out of the window, his phone buzzed..

'I'm sorry, but I can't do this any more.. I hope you'll be happier without me. I loved you once, I love you still. I always have and I always will.. xxx' She wrote...

Storming out of the car and dashing across the street, John barged the door open and ran into her bedroom where she sat sobbing into her pillow. 'Why do you have to do this to me John? Why do you have this power to make me smile? You do these things to me, yet.. I still love you..' She sobbed, She knew he was there, she heard him barge his way in. 'Because you know I love you and I know you love me. Because you know I'd do anything for you, I'd catch the moon for you if I could. I'd walk on broken glass to be with you. And you know what? If I had the whole world to write on, to express how much I love you, it wouldn't all fit.' John smiled sitting down slowly on to her bed.

'I'm sorry about what I said, I love you and I never want to ever loose you!' Sarah replied. 'I've fallen in love with you and I'll never let you go. I love you more than anyone, I just had to let you know. And if you ever wonder why, I don't know what I'll say, but I'll never stop loving you, each and every day.' John smiled. He wasn't the greatest at romance, but he was good with love rhymes. 'If you're asking if I need you, the answer is forever. If you're asking if I will leave you, the answer is never. If you're asking what I value, the answer is you. If you asking if I love you, the answer is I do.' He continued.

'I love you for you, but mostly I love you for what I am when I'm with you. I am myself, I feel comfortable in your company, I feel relaxed and I know I can do what I like and you'll still love me.' She smiled. 'Of course. The more I know you, the more I love you.' John smiled wrapping his arms around her. 'I love you more than my teddybear, but please, don't tell him..' She chuckled. 'You like the bear I got you then?' John smiled. 'Yeah, I called him CJ' She smiled? 'CJ?' He replied. 'Yeah, CJ.. Captain Jack.' Sarah chuckled. 'Oh honestly!' John laughed. 'Now, lets forget this saga ever happened and start again.' John smiled kissing her softly on the forehead.

***

'I've been thinking about this for a while..' John began. 'What? Do tell?' Sarah asked curious of his answer. 'Would you like to come away with me, for a few weeks? Just you and me?? I can get time off if I book something now' John smiled. 'I'd love that, where did you have in mind?' She asked. 'I was thinking, maybe.. Maldives, Majorca, Tenariffe, Antigua.. Any of those sound OK to you?' John replied shuffling up the bed and lying on her bed, resting his head on her pillow. 'This bed's comfy..' John smiled. 'No, you can't stay the night before you ask.' Sarah smirked. 'I was not suggesting such a thing!' John smirked. 'Yeah right! Pull the other one, its got bells on!!' Sarah laughed rolling her eyes.

'You're a very cheeky man, Mr Barrowman. But I love you anyway.' She smiled and lent in to kiss him softly on the lips. They're eyes closed and they kissed softly, the feeling was warm, secure and tender, it was true love and it was perfect. John lay down on his back and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to him. Placing his hands gently on her waist, he kissed her again. Looking into her eyes, he gently caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. 'I love you, did you know that?' John smiled. 'I love you too.' She replied. 'I mean it babe. Me and you forever. Nothing and no one is going to come between us, I promise. Nothing will break us apart, we were made to be together, I know we were.' John smiled. 'Where's this loved up stuff come from all of a sudden?' She asked.

'Nearly loosing you today has made me realise just how much I love you and how much you really mean to me. I never want to risk that happening, ever again.' John smiled. 'I promise, it's going to take more than an arguement to break us up. Today has made me realise how much I love you too.' She smiled. 'I'm sorry.' He smiled. 'Apology accepted.' She replied. 'I think we better get my holiday booked soon. I will have to get on to Rhys shortly.' John replied sitting up. 'OK. Just one thing?' She asked. 'Yeah?' He replied. 'Stay here tonight -- with me??' Sarah asked. 'But you said-' He replied. '.. I lied.' She winked. 'What about your flatmates?' John replied. 'What about them?' She smirked. 'They... Oh I see...' John replied kissing her again passionately.

***

Waking up the following morning, the sun beaming through the curtains, John lay on his back, looking up at the ceiling. The birds were singing in the trees outside, Sarah was still asleep, curled up under the duvet with her back to him. She looked so happy and peaceful, like an angel. Turning onto his side to face her, John slowly wrapped his arm around her. Kissing her softlu on the shoulder, she turned over, shuffled towards him and buried her head in his chest. She muttered 'love you' and drifted off back to sleep. 'Love you too' He whispered and kissed her softly on the forehead.

John lay there silently for a while, thinking about her and how happy he was to be with her and hopefully spending the rest of his life with her. An hour later, Sarah woke up and looked at John softly. 'Still here' She smiled stroking his soft bare chest with her fingers. 'Yes. Why wouldn't I be?' John smiled. 'Thought you might of been one of those men that gets up and leaves before she wakes.' Sarah smiled. 'No, I would never do that. I'm not a user. What happened last night was nice. I love you and I hope we can do it again.' He smiled. 'I love you too. Last night was nice, I do agree.' She smiled. 'I thought you said to me last night I wasn't allowed to stop the night?' John smirked. 'As I said, I lied. Besides, I prefer to wake up with you beside me, not away from me.' She smiled.

'So where do we go from here?' She asked. 'We carry on as normal. We're a couple now and no one is going to take that away from us. What we decide to tell people is up to you, I don't mind. I'll do whatever you want me to do.' John smiled. 'I will tell people, but I don't know when..' Sarah asked. 'You want us to go public then?' John asked. 'Not to the world yet, no. Just to close friends and family for the time being.' Sarah smiled. 'You'll know when the time is right.' John smiled sitting up. 'I phoned Rhys earlier, he's going to book me some time off in the next few days.' John smiled. 'Then we can organise about going away.' He continued.

'I think I want to tell people now, but only if you wanted too of course.' Sarah smiled rubbing his back gently. 'I will do what you want to do. I'd like to tell people about us, of course I would. I am deadly serious about you and I want people to know that.' He smiled looking over his shoulder at her. He'd never been so sure about his feelings for someone as he was now. She was his life, his world, his everyting and he wanted people to know about her. How amazing she was, how beautiful and how intelligent she was. She was perfect -- at least to him she was..

'Who you going to tell first?' She asked climbing out of bed. 'My parents I think, they'll be over the moon and I'm sure they'd love to meet you eventually.' John smiled putting on his jeans. 'They sound lovely from what you've told me about them.' She smiled. 'They are, they're so warm, kind and funny too. I think you'll all get along fine.' He smiled. 'Once I have my time off booked, I'll get onto booking the holiday away. Need to wait for Rhys to tell me first.' John smiled.

Putting his t-shirt on, John's phone buzzed:

Hey mate! Got your holiday booked, I've managed to get you three weeks off, next month. You'll have to put all the hard work in now before you go off. Its getting hectic here and Gavin's not answering his phone. Get your backside here in the next HOUR or I'm going to kick someone's behind!!' He wrote..

'I have to go babe, works manic and I'm needed. I'll text you this evening and we'll meet up. Love you' And he ran out for the door.

Running towards the car, John's phone buzzed:

'You were out of order having a go at me the other week. You're acting very strange and I don't like it! Gav' Gavin wrote.

'To be honest Gav, I don't give a damn. As far as I'm concerned I stand by the fact you were out of order. What goes on in my private life frankly has nothing to do with you. Now get your butt in work or Rhys is going to go bananas. I'll see you there.' He wrote back.

'Your a vile man when you want to be John' Gavin replied.

'Don't really care. I don't like people praying in my private matters. Especially if it has no connection with you.' John replied.

'On my way now Rhys, see you in 10' John texted Rhys.

'Good to hear. See you soon' Rhys replied.

***

Standing in the kitchen, making herself a cup of tea, her phone buzzed:

'07983245681' came up on the screen..

'You had to get someone to interfere in our matters and now you're going to pay. I'm coming for you Sarah, and your lover boy, so watch your back!' It read...

-- SEVEN --

John arrived at work and was greeted by Gavin who was looking very disappointed. 'I have nothing more to say to you. I stand by what I said.' John replied before Gavin could speak. 'Why are you being so secretive?' Gavin asked. 'You want to know why, you really want to know?' John replied. 'Yes, as a matter of fact, I do.' Gavin replied walking with him across the car park. 'Because you made Sarah feel very uncomfortable..' John explained. 'But why, I still don't get it?' Gavin replied. 'She's a very special lady to me and I don't want anybody upsetting her.' John replied.

'What are you trying to say?' Gavin replied. 'SHE'S MY GIRLFRIEND!' John bellowed. 'Are you thick? Surely what I said wasn't that hard to work out' John replied. 'Ah! I see. I didn't mean to upset her and I'm sorry if I did.' Gavin apologised. 'I think it should be her you should be saying sorry to.' John replied, walking into the meeting room and closing the door.

***

Sitting at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, Sarah went still and quiet. Her hands were shaking and she began to sweat. She looking down at the message again, she was sure it was Andy. She wasn't sure weather or not to tell John or keep it to herself. Now she was getting scared, she was scared he'd hurt John or worse, kill him.. Eventually, she decided to text John and let him know what had just happened:

'John, I'm scared! I think Andy's been let out of prison on bale and I think he's after us I don't know what to do!!' She texted.

In a fit of panic, she ran to the front door and double bolted it, and sat on the floor behind it. Andy knew where she lived and she was scared he'd come for her first.. John wasn't around now to save her. She sat in a heap with her head in her hands and waited for his reply...

***

Sitting in the meeting room, John's phone was on silent but he felt it vibrate in his pocket.. He wanted to check it, but he couldn't. Sitting fiddling with his pen, John was woundering who it was. As the meeting final ended and they left the room, John checked his phone. It was Sarah..

After reading her message John began to panic. 'I'm really sorry, but I have to go.' John said to Gavin who was talking to Rhys. 'Why, what's the rush?' Gavin asked. 'Sarah' He whispered. He didn't have to say any more. Gavin knew she was in a bit of toruble by the way John spoke. 'I'll come with you' And they both ran to John's car hoping to get there before she was hurt.

***

Sitting on the floor by the door there was a loud banging on the living room window, she looked around so not to be seen.. No one was there. She sat back on the floor and waited for the reply. 'BANG BANG.......BANG!' Went the noise again. She sat and quivered as the banging got louder. Her phone buzzed:

'We're on our way.' It was Gavin. Sarah had a feeling he knew about her and John, but right now couldn't care less. She just wanted him to come and get her. 'Saaaaraaaah, are you iiiin?!' Came a creepy voice through the letter box. She sat really still against the door as he looked through. As the letter box went back down again, she heard him walk away.. But she didn't know where...

Tears falling down her cheeks, the bangs came again. This time on the kitchen window. It was Andy.. And he was trying to get in! He wore blue denim jeans, and back hoodie and a pair of thick leather gloves. He was picking at the window safety lock. 'Oh no' She thought to herself:

He's round the back of the flat, trying to get in, please hurry!!' She texted Gavin.

As she looked up from the phone, he was peering in the window looking for eveidence she was home. But she'd left nothing in view, thankfully.

***

'John, step on it, he's trying to get in!' Gavin exclaimed. 'Oh crap.' John replied and floored the accelerator through the traffic lights and on to her flat. Speeding around the bend, John just missed an oncoming bus and a lorry in the right hand lane, swerved and continued along the road till they came to a set of traffic lights.

They'd hit rush hour traffic and were stuck in a traffic jam behind a row of cars that were behind a tractor. 'Where the hell did he come from?!' John bellowed. He was worrying about Sarah, hoping she was safe and in hiding. 'Its rush hour, John. People are on there way home.' Gavin replied. 'Not the traffic, the tractor! There are no fields nearby that I know of.' John replied. 'John, you have to calm down.' Gavin reassured him. 'CALM DOWN!? Sarah's in trouble and you want ME to CALM DOWN!' He bellowed.

***

'I know your home.' Andy shouted through the window. Sarah sat in silence watching him as he continued to pick the lock. 'Your lover boy wont save you now. No one cares about you, you're nothing, worthless.. A has been. Nobody cares about you.' Andy taunted through the window. Sarah felt hurt, scared and lonley. She had no idea where John was or how far away he was. 'I'm going to count to three then I'm bashing your door in.. 1.....2...' As he reached three, the window shattered and shards of glass went flying everywhere...

Shaking by the door, she got to her feet and walked towards him. 'I'll do anything you want, just don't hurt me, please.' She pleaded. 'Ah, that's better. A woman who I can control, just like they should be..' He smirked. 'Please, don't hurt me, I beg you!' She pleaded again. 'Where's your lover boy now eh?' He replied walking towards her slowly. Taking hold of her top, he shoved her hard against the wall and pinned her there. 'I told you once, NEVER to get others involved in our matters, but no, you had to go and tell him, didn't you?' He screamed. 'I'm sorry.' She replied and he spat in her face.

'Nobody cares about you, you're a washed up old has been. You're worthless a nobody. Nobody cares. Sarah, the girl at school kids teased, the girl with no friends, the loner, the saddo, the freak' He taunted and laughed. 'Everybody hates you. Why would someone love someone as hidious and ugly as you?!' Andy snarled. 'Your so called boyfriend dispises you, he hates your guts. He's sat at home now laughing to himself at the thought of you thinking he loved you.' He sniggered.

'You're lying' She replied. 'Oh am I now? See, I don't think I am. You, my friend have NO friends and nobody wants to be your friend. You sit at home alone at night and surf the internet and drink tea. You have no social life.' He replied letting go of her. 'And please, don't try and run, because I'll have to hurt you.' Andy smirked as he sat perched on the arm of the sofa.

***

Arriving outside her flat, John parked out of view and ran slowly around the back of the flat. He watched as she stood there crying, pleaded with him not to hurt her. It was killing him. John hated seeing her like this and wanted to do something to help her.

'Stay hidden, ring the police, we can't let him hurt her.' John whispered. 'What are you going to do?' Gavin answered. 'What I should of done in the first place.. Taught this guy a lesson.. He replied and placed a small Stanley knife in his trouser pocket.

***

'Your lover boy wont save you, he hates the sight of you.' Andy snarled. 'Wrong answer' John replied. Andy jumped and held Sarah close to him and pulled out a bread knife. A sharp, serated endged stainless steel bread knife and held it again her throat. 'Come on Andy, we can do this in a civil manner without killing anyone..' John replied. 'I don't people creeping up on me.' He snarled. 'Oh sorry, did I scare you?' John replied laughing.

You wont slit her throat. As you've said before, she's worthless.. So why cut her?' John asked keeping calm. 'Let go of her and you can have me instead. How about that, hmm?'John asked. 'I don't know you.' Andy replied losening his grip. 'No, but you got in the car easy enough.' John smiled. Pushing her to one side, Andy made a run for the window. 'No you don't.' John replied, grabbing him by the collar and pinning him to the wall. 'Like I told you before, your a nasty man, Sailcombe and I'm going to see you locked up for a veeeery long time.' John smirked.

As John pulled him from the wall, Andy swung the knife and caught John on the leg, just above his knee. 'Oh you're going to pay for that!!' John scremed and threw him against the glass coffee table and he hit the ground with a loud crash. Andy scrambled into the corner of the room, he looked surprised shocked about what just happened. John picked him up from the floor and smashed him on the face. Blood trickled down Andy's nose and onto his jacket. 'I wont tell you again, you leave SARAH alone or I'll KILL YOU!' John raged. And held him down on the ground. 'Get off me!' Andy screamed. 'No, I'm holding you here till the police get here.' John replied.

John was hoping they'd arrive soon and he'd be carted off in a police van and kept behind bars indeffinatley. Gavin came into the room and held Andy down on the floor, while John got up and rushed over to Sarah who was sat on the floor, shivering in fear. 'Are you OK?' John asked. 'I'm OK now you're here.' Sarah smiled. 'They'll be here soon and I'll make sure he's NEVER let out so he wont be able to hurt you.' John reasured her. 'He could of killed you' Sarah replied. 'I know, but he didn't.' John smiled. 'No one can, I'm immortal' John laughed. 'No, Jack is immortal, you are not' Sarah laughed.

As Gavin picked Andy up off the floor, the policemen came barging through the front door and arrested him and took him away to the police car and off to the station. Following them to the station, the police wanted a statement from Sarah about what had happened. Arriving at the station, they watched as Andy was placed in a cell and made to take off his shoes. The sargent on the desk was watching at Andy began shouting and screaming.

'We're sorry to make you do this love, but its a legal requirement. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, then please let us know.' The Sargent smiled. 'You'll be OK. I'll be waiting for you when you come out, I promise.' John smiled as Sarah made her way to the questioning room with a female officer. Looking back John smiled. 'Love you' he whispered as the door closed behind her.

-- EIGHT --

Watching television in the living room together, John and Sarah were watching Road Wars, a programme that follows an elite unit from the Thames Valley Police. Sarah had been at John's place ever since the questioning, a week ago.

John's home was huge and roomy, with four large size rooms, an enormous kitchen, dining area and outdoor swimming pool. The living room was huge, with a long leather sofa against the far wall. A large red lounge chair by the patio doors and a black sheep skin rug laid out in front of the fire and a medium sized wooden oak coffee table.

The dining room was equip with a long wooden table, with four seats positioned around it and place mats and coasters neatly laid out on the table, ready for use. The sink draining board was clean, all the cups and plates were neatly put away in there correct cupboards. The floor was spotless, it gleamed in the sun light from the window.

The main bathroom was gorgeous. With its gleaming white tiles around the bath and in the shower cubical. The bright clean white bathroom floor mats sat neatly by the side of the bath and outside the shower and around the bottom of the toilet on the floor. They looked brand new, like they'd never been used. It was a amazing to see a mans house so clean and tidy.

Each bedroom had its own double bed, free view TV and otter man where each rooms bedding and sheets were stored. They each had there own dressing table with mirror and a rug laid out under the window. The beds were always immaculate, like they had never been slept it. It was like a hotel, everything was away in its place.

John lived alone on Cardiff bay with his dogs, Captain Jack, Charlie and Harris. People would come up to him in the street and say good morning. People out walking there dogs would stop and chat to him. Everyone knew him and everyone got a long with him, he was a kind man with a heart of gold. John never said no to a chat and a photo with people. He always took time out of his busy schedule to make time for people. John was finally happy and content, he had what he wanted. A loving relationship a great family unit and of course, amazing friends.

John sat watching the televison with Sarah, his arm gently over her shoulder. She was leaning against him with her head on his chest, engrossed in the programme they were watching when John's phone rang. 'I have to get that, its Gavin.' John smiled leaning over to the coffee table as has phone violently vibrated and flashed. 'No problem.' She replied sitting up so he was able to reach.

'Hey John, hope you're OK. Listen, I had an email back from that guy we had a meeting with last week and he wants to do a pilot for Tonight's The Night' Gavin beamed. 'Oh fantastic!' John exclaimed. 'I'll be delighted to do it.' John continued. 'He wants Barrowman Barker Productions to produce it and the BBC to air it.' Gavin explained. 'Oh wonderful' John smiled. 'Just wanted to ring and let you know. See you tomorrow.' And he hung up.

'What did he want?' Sarah asked politely. 'Oh a few people we had a meeting with last week want us to do a pilot for a programme I want to do called 'Tonight's The Night' John replied. 'What's that going to be?' She asked. 'An entertainment show for Saturday nights, where I surprise people and make they're entertainment dreams come true.' John explained. 'Oh that sounds like a great show.' She smiled. 'I know. I thought it was about time I made others dreams come true. I've got my dream, so its time for others to have a chance to live thiers.' John smiled.

'Have you managed to book the holiday yet?' Sarah asked. 'Yes I have, but I wasn't sure if you still wanted to go after last weeks fiasco and everything. But yes, its been booked and sorted. We're away for three weeks.' John replied. 'Where we going?' She asked. 'I thought we'd go to Antigua. Its a lovely country and I go every year if I can' John smiled. 'I've never been there before' Sarah smiled. 'Oh I'm sure you'll love it.' John smiled. 'I'm sure I will' She smiled.

'I need to go home soon, I can't stay here to long' She replied looking down at the floor. 'Why not? You're more than welcome to stay here for as long as you like.' John smiled. 'You're a busy man and I don't want to get under your feet and in your way' She replied. 'Nonsense, that would never happen' He smiled getting up from the sofa. 'Want to sit in the garden with me for a while?' John asked opening the patio doors. 'Yeah sure.' She smiled and followed him outside onto the decking.

The garden was big and spacious, you could see the sea from the decking. The sun was shining down on the pool, it was a lovely day. The water in the pool was still. By the side of the pool sat a small wooden table, with two chairs and a parasol sat in the middle of the table slotted into the small round hole. There was also three white sun loungers sat side by side at the side if the pool. The garden was clear, like it had recently been mowed, there were light green and dark green strips on the grass.

'I'm going to put on some shorts, its warm out here. Might put on my swimming shorts in case I want to go for a swim.' John smiled standing up from the table. 'OK' Sarah smiled. 'If you want a drink or anything, help yourself. I'll take you back to your place to collect some stuff if you want later.' John replied as he walked into the house. 'Thanks.' She shouted as he disappeared out of sight.

Sarah sat quietly looking out at the sea from the decking. There was a couple out walking there dog on the sand, throwing a ball and the dog was sprinting after it. She sat and throught about what she wanted to collect from the flat. 'I need more clothes to wear and some toiletries' She thought to herself. As she got up from the chair, John appeared in the door way in a white t-shirt and a white pair of swimming shorts and flops. He looked amazing, his t-shirt was tight across his chest and was outlining his abs and torso.

'Someone's ready for summer' Sarah smiled she was eyeing him up and down, taking in his muscles on his arms. The t-shirt was tight, but she didn't mind. He looked hot standing there in the doorway. 'I found some sun cream, thought you might want to wear it. Wouldn't want you getting sun burnt now would we?' John smiled giving her the bottle. 'Oh thanks.' She smiled. 'You can put some on me if you like' He smirked. 'Oh yes please' She thought to herself. 'When you want to go collect your stuff, let me know. He replied laying out a towel on one of the sun loungers by the pool.

Removing his t-shirt and putting it on the sun lounger, John took off his sun glasses and sat on the small chair in front of Sarah. 'You want to do the honours? Only I can't do my back - I can't reach.' John replied turning around on the chair. Her mind was now doing overtime as she began rubbing sun cream onto his back. His soft skin gleaming in the sunlight as she applied sun cream to his shoulders and the back of his neck. 'I should get you to do this more often.' John replied, his head tiled down towards the floor.

As John stood by the side of the pool, Sarah watched as he dove into the water like an olympic swimmer and rose again to the surface and swam from one end of the pool to the other four times before stopping at the side and wiping away the water from his eyes. 'Pitty you can't join me' John smiled placing his arms on the side of the pool and rest his head on his hands. 'I don't have my swimming gear with me' She replied. 'We'll get them if you want when we go back, I'd like to swim with you.' John smiled. 'OK then.' She smiled.

Deep down she was blushing at the thought of him seeing her in her swimming gear. She hated her body, she thought she was fat. She didn't like going swimming in public because of the way she looked, she didn't have very much self confidence. She was worried about what he'd say to her, would he be put off by the way she looked? Would he make a comment about her swim wear, she didn't know and she was dreading the time she'd find out.

Spotting a small stereo just inside the door, Sarah asked John if she could put some music on. 'Yeah sure, make yourself at home. Whats mine is yours.' John replied getting out of the pool via the metal steps. As she knelt down to the stereo, John placed his hands on her shoulders. 'Holding you steady so you don't fall.' John replied so not to make her jump.

As the stereo came to life, 'Fill Me In' by Craig David was just finishing. 'Grenade' by Bruno Mars came on the radio. Sarah stood up and sang a long with it. 'I would go through all this pain. Take a bullet straight through my brain. Yes, I would die for ya baby; But you won't do the same' She sang. 'Yes I would.' John whispered and kissed her softly on the cheek. She smiled softly and sat back down on the chair. 'You can sit on one of the loungers if you want.' John smiled. 'I know, I'm OK here for the moment thanks.' She replied.

John dove back into the water in the pool and swam up and down the pool a few more times before finally stepping out of the pool and wiping himself down with the towel and sitting on the sun lounger. His hair was ruffled up after he'd been rubbing his head with the towel a few times. Slipping on his flip flops and standing up from the chair John walked indoors and made himself a large glass of lemonade and a sandwich. 'Want anything while I'm here?' John asked. 'No I'm OK thanks.' Sarah replied. 'You haven't eaten yet today, are you alright?' John asked. 'I'm fine, I'm just not hungry at the moment' She replied.

Walking back out onto the decking in the garden, John took a seat at the table and began eating his sandwich. Seagulls were flying over head as the sun continued beaming down. One seagull landed on the roof of a neighbours house before taking off again towards the beach. Sarah stood up from the chair and walked indoors before sprawling out on the sofa with the TV mag. 'Are you sure you're OK?' John asked walking through the patio doors. 'I'm fine, just hot, that's all. I'll be OK' Sarah smiled.

Sarah was begining to feel ill, the sun had gotten to her and she wasn't feeling to good. Her stomach was doing turns and making her feel like she was about to be sick. After a few moments sitting indoors, she sat up on the sofa and put the TV mag back on the table. 'I want to go and get my stuff soon, if you don't mind' She shouted. 'OK, give me a few minutes and we'll go.' John replied from the kitchen.

Arriving at the flat it was quiet, there was nobody home. Collecting a few things from her room, John appeared at the door way. 'I know this sounds crazy, but.. I want you to stay with me. That way, you're away from here and you can make a fresh start. This place is only going to bring back bad memories.' John replied. 'I don't know.. I mean, is that what you want? But, wont I get in the way of things?' Sarah replied. 'No. Besides, I'm away quite a bit with work and you'll be learning the PA role with Rhys, we wont be in each others way.' John smiled. 'You don't have to get all your stuff now, do it a bit at a time.' He continued.

Leaving the flat and making there way down the path, John stopped her at the gate. 'I don't want you to feel like I'm forcing you to live with me.. I just feel its better if you got a fresh start. You know, start again?' John replied. 'Oh, its OK, its not you.. Its me.' Sarah replied. 'What do you mean, its you?' John replied. 'I'm not sure if me living with you is truly what you want..' She replied. 'Of course it is, I love you and I'd do anything to make you feel more comfortable.' John replied taking hold of her hand. 'I don't want you being reminded of that scum bag of an ex boyfriend of yours.' John smiled.

Arriving back at John's place Sarah went and changed into something a bit more cooling and put on her swimwear underneath in case she was offered for a swim. John sat on the sun lounger waiting for her to reappear in the door way. He took off his t shirt, and his flip flops and lay on the sun lounger sunbathing with his sun glasses on. He hadn't been lying there long where Sarah reappeared in the doorway in her shorts and the top of her swimming costume.

'You coming for a swim this time?' John asked still sunbathing. 'Yeah, I guess so.' Sarah replied. 'Great.' John replied a he stood up from the sun lounger with the sun cream in hand. 'Want some of this on your back?' John asked. 'I'll do it for you if you can't reach.' John smiled. John gently applied sun cream to her shoulders, the back of her neck and the back of her arms. He was being gentle so not to hurt her in any way. As he finished, he placed the bottle down on the table. 'Don't be shy, I wont say anything. I know you're worried about the way you look, but from what I've seen you look fine to me' John reasurred her.

Walking down the stairs of the pool one step at a time, John held out his hand as she stepped off the stairs so she wouldn't slip. As she took hold of his hand, the water danced around her. At first it was cold and she screeched but she soon got used to the temperature change and was swimming around with John in no time. As she did two laps of the pool, John pulled her in towards him and kissed her softly on the lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. John pulled away from her for a moment and smiled. 'I love you, you know that?' He said looking at her softly. 'I love you too' She replied and they came together again.

Later that afternoon as the temperature dropped, John wrapped his towel around Sarah as she stepped out of the pool and onto the decking. The sun had gone in and the wind was out, it was breezy, it made Sarah cold as she was wet from head to toe from the pool. 'Here, I made you a warm drink, thought you might of needed it.' John smiled handing her a mug of fresh coffee. 'Oh, fantastic.' She replied taking the hot beverage. Sitting on the sun lounger, the towel wrapped around her and both hands on her hot mug, Sarah sat back and relaxed before going to get changed.

Standing in John's bathroom, the taps running, Sarah sat waiting for the bath to fill up before getting in. Steam was evaporating into the air and the room was getting warm. Condensation was forming on the mirror and the window began to steam up. Sarah placed her glasses on the bathroom cabinet and took her hair out of the side and it fell down past her shoulders. Turning the taps off, she slowly stepped in and sat down in the warm water soaking.

Footsteps were coming up the stairs 'Just getting you a towel out, will leave it outside the door for you when you're ready.' John replied walking across the landing. Reaching up in the cupbaord, John put his hand on a large blue bath towel and pulled out of the cupboard. Placing it on the floor outside the bathroom door, John made his way back downstairs to wait for her to come down.

John sat quietly in the kitchen looking out of the window to the garden. The sun had moved round and was now beaming down on the grass part of the garden. There were birds bathing in the bird bath and there was a bird perched on the bird feeder eating the seeds and nuts. John sat thinkinhg about that afternoon in the pool, it was magical, it felt right - it was love. He had fallen deeply in love with her and he felt great. He'd spend every moment of every day thinking about her, even though she was there - right in front of him. It was like a dream, his dream come true.

A few moments later John heard footsteps across the landing, one of the guest rooms was above the kitchen where he sat. John sat listening to her walking back and to in the room above him. Downstairs was quiet, there was no tv on and no radio. It was like he was living alone again, the house was silent. Her footsteps had stopped and there was no noise. John gave it a few more minutes and strolled upstairs to make sure Sarah was OK.

John quietly made his way to the guest room where she was and peered in quietly around the door. She was sat using her laptop quietly on the bed, her towel was neatly draped over the chair. 'Oh, I didn't see you there. Hope you don't mind me using my laptop?' She asked kindly. 'Not at all, do as you wish. You may come down and sit with me if you want, you can bring your laptop.' John smiled opening the door. 'OK, I'll be down in a few moments' She replied typing on the keypad.

Sarah was sitting typing away on Twitter to friends and Facebook to family. Her status read:

'Met the man of my dreams, the star in my sky, my one and only -- love you babe! xx'

John took a quick look on his Twitter and spotted her status, he then wrote:

'There are many women out there, but none as special as the one I know. She's amazing! JB'

She replied to his message:

'@Team_Barrowman I hope you will be very happy and I hope she's everythig you ever wanted.'

He replied:

'@LFC_JFT96_YNWA I am very happy and she's everything I ever wished for. JB'

-- NINE --

That night, Sarah was making dinner for the two of them. She was making a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings. Stuffing, Carrot and turnip, roasted parsnips, mash potato, steamed vegetables and a jug of gravy, it smelt delicious. The aromas were dancing round the kitchen as the chicken sat roasting in the oven. Sarah wasn't the greatest cook, but she liked to have a go.

John was helping her make dinner and set the table ready for serve up. He bent down at the oven and checked the chicken. 'Almost done, not long now.' He smiled stabbing the chicken turning the dial down on the cooker, John gave the potatoes a stir, they were almost ready to mash, they were getting soft. The vegatables steamed away in the three tier steam cooker on the worktop, they were almost done too. Dinner was almost complete.

'You know that status you put on Twitter, was it true, did you really mean that?' John asked popping his head around the kitchen door. 'I never say things I don't mean, why?' She asked. 'Oh no reason, was just wondering, that's all.' He smiled. He smiled softly to himself, now he knew she deffinatly felt the same way, it was now as plain as day. Finally he found someone who loved him for him, not for his fame.

Sarah walked back into the kitchen and switched everything off. She pulled the chicken out of the oven with oven gloves. She'd done two large chicken fillets for them, rather than a whole chicken. She took the vegetables out of the steamer and put them in a ceramic dish. John had prepared the mash potatos and were now sat neartly on the table. The roasted parsnips were next to be taken out of the oven along with the carrot and turnip and the roast potatoes.

After eating dinner, they sat at the table together drinking coffee. Sarah popped an apple pie in the oven for dessert and had custard warming on the hob. 'That was a really nice dinner you prepared.' John smiled. 'You did it too.' She smiled. 'I know but you did most of it and it was delicious' He smiled. 'We've got apple pie and custard for dessert.' She replied. 'I love apple pie' John smiled. 'Good to hear' She smiled.

Later that night as the sun was setting, John and Sarah were sat on the grass in the garden chatting. It was getting late and they were engrossed in conversation. 'Ever since I met you, I knew you were the one, I just hope to god I'm right.' John smiled. The radio was on low and 'When I Need You' by Leo Sayer was playing in the background. ' When I need you, I just close my eyes, And I'm with you. And all that I so wanna give you babe, It's only a heartbeat away.' He sang as she sat smiling on the grass. Looking up at the stars, she lent back to lie on the grass and John lay behind her so she was able to put her head on his lap.

Laying on the ground with her head on John's lap, John looked down at her and smiled. 'Have I ever told you how much I love you?' Sarah smiled. 'Yes you have and I love you too. Oh I forgot to tell you, my parents are coming down for a few weeks before we go away.' John smiled. 'When will they arrive?' Sarah asked. 'Tomorrow, late afternoon I should think.' John smiled. 'I look forward to meeting them then. Have you told them?' She asked. 'I was on the phone to my mother while you were upstairs. I told her I had some news but I wouldn't say till they arrive tomorrow' John smiled.

***

Standing in the airport, waiting for the plane to land from Florida in the United States, John was ordering drinks from the arrivals lounge coffee bar, while Sarah was sitting by the window watching the planes park up at the terminals on the runway tarmac.

A Cathey Pacific airline, from Sydney, Australia was coming in to park at Termial 3. Its wings were white in colour with a white under belly on the body and the rest was turquoise in colour with 'Cathay Pacific' in big white writing, on its side.

The sun was shining down on the runway tarmac luggage carts were wizzing around from terminal to terminal. They looked like ants from where she was sitting. The staff were dressed in orange high visibility jackets, they were putting luggage in the cargo holds of planes before they were to leave the airport.

They'd been sitting there for over an hour when over the speakers of the arrivals lounge came an announcement 'Flight 656 from, Florida, USA has just arrived at the terminal, please allow 25 minutes for all passengers to collect there luggage. Thank you.' It echoed through the airport. 'That's mum and dads flight.' John replied sipping his coffee. 'Ah right OK then, will be on the look out for them shortly then.' She replied.

Thirty five minutes later, John's parents appeared through the doors pushing there luggage trolley as other people dashed past them on either side, eagar to get to there families. As the crowds of people fizzed away, John was finally able to see them clearly. He whistled loudly and his mother spotted him in the small crowd. 'Hey mum, did you have a good flight?' John asked his mother in a broad Glaswegian accent. 'Aye we did. You alright?' His mother asked. 'Yeah, we're good.' John smiled. 'Your dad was asleep for most of the flight' His mother smiled. 'No I wasn't, I was resting my eyes.' His father replied.

'Come on, lets get you two home, we can talk more then' John replied pushing the trolley out of the airport and across the carpark. Travelling along in the car, John's mother thumped him on the arm. 'You haven't introdued us to your friend!' His mother replied. 'Oh sorry, Mum, dad, this is Sarah. Sarah this is my mother Marion and my father John' John replied glacing through the rear view mirror from the drivers seat. Sarah had given her passenger seat to John's mother and was sat in the back with his father. 'So, tell us your news John?' His mother asked. 'I'll tell you when we get home.' John replied.

Arriving home, John helped his parents out of the car, before closing the car door. Sarah took the suitcases out of the boot and placed them on the ground and gently closed the boot door. John gave Sarah the keys and picked up the suitcasees. Sarah placed the key in the door and turned the key clockwise and the door opened slowly. Sarah gestured his parents inside. 'Thank you' His mother smiled and she stepped through the door. 'Thanks love' His dad smiled. John placed the suitcases on the floor by the stairs and proceeded into the kitchen where everyone was gathered. 'So, what's your news?' His mother asked again. 'Lets get the kettle on first.' John replied.

'OK. I'll start it a different way.. How did you meet? I have a feeling I know what you're news is.' His mother smirked. 'OK. I met her at a signing a few months back.' John replied reaching for two cups from the cupboard. 'So, she's your girlfriend then I take it?' His father asked. 'Yeah' John replied. 'Nice to meet you love' His dad grinned. His parents looked pleased for there son, pleased that he'd finally found someone to share his life with.

***

They'd been talking for about and hour now, and his parents liked Sarah. They thought she was very sweet, considerate and kind. A perfect match. She was always very considerate towards his parents, offering them a biscuit and asking if they required anything. She had a lovely smile and a great personality, they were opposite to each others characters, John was outgoing and bubbly, She was shy and reserved. But, as the evening progressed, she began to get a little more confident with them.

You broke the stereotypical meet-the-parents-moment that goes wrong
