I was really hoping they were going to redo these like they are with Dragon Quest 3, but that was dashed pretty hard.
Darn.. I so wanted Final Fantasy VI to come to the PS4. I wonder why they chose not to bring this out on consoles? ?

It could always come to a console, but most likely Switch and current gen if anything.
They released something like this back in 2003 on the PSONE as FF Origins. I never got around to playing it. I don't think I really expressed an interest in wanting to. I was focused on Final Fantasy X at the time.
I actually got that, it came with some movie scenes for the games and better translations as well I believe.
I had a friend who played the hell out of it. He was pretty obsessed with and he beat all of them. He explained that some of the game mechanics from the Retro FF games were used in Final Fantasy X at the time when it was the most current game of the franchise.
