Stupid/ignorant/arrogant members as nothing ruins your fun more then having to deal with any of these people especially when they are staff.

Forums with ugly themes, especially all of those phpbb ones with that boring old white and blue theme. In one day I found 5 advertising forums with that horrible, ugly white blue mix.

No browse through the forum.

The things that would prevent me from joining a forum are the following:

• Extreme inactivity.
  
• Hideous graphics and skin.
  
• Lack of professionalism.
  
• Staff members that do not do their duties properly, which makes me wonder why were they given the job in the first place.
  
• Elitists, which are people that pick on the new members.
  
• Inappropriate/childish content splattered everywhere, especially in people's posts.
  
• And the thing that would cause anyone to click away from a forum within two seconds: When everything is hidden on the forum and you must register to view everything in it. Seriously, what is it you've got to hide? No one is going to bother signing up just to view the one thread in any of the sections on your forum.

This is why I refuse to join Forumotion hosted forums. When you browse someone's forum as a guest, you get that lovely display box which asks you to register or log in, or don't display this again. It's pathetic, because new members like myself just want to browse a forum and perhaps not join it, so it's sickening to get something like that on Forumotion. Not something I'd recommend.

I don't understand what you even mean by the 4th one.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear on that. What I mean is that when staff don't do their job properly, it can either be that they're clueless on what they're doing, or pretty much power abuse that Evil Eye mentioned. There was one person I knew from another forum who abused his Moderator position by embarassing innocent members and gave the entire forum a really bad impression. I can say more but that'll be enough... and I hope you can understand on what I'm trying to say. I thought anyone would know what I meant by that point

So being disrespectful of men is just fine? It may seem shallow .. Yeah I think that almost applies here ... but I think the look is one of the most important keys for example I'd much rather me on Off Topix than be on a forum with a horribly created skin and a banner made from Windows Paint. Also having sections for things that really should only be for topics like some forums I have been around have sections like Count To etc.
