So a question, why is anyone not allowed to say/think whatever she/he wants in "free countries" without caring about "upsetting others... or "disrupting peace..."? XD And can't you see,
there's no "freedom of anything" anywhere in the world... because we must live with other humans on Earth.

Freedom of speech means the state won't prosecute you for what you're saying. Obviously if you say controversial things you will offend people.

Yes obviously, but can't people see everywhere else in the world it's the same for "freedom of thinking, and freedom of Speech": controversial in themselves. And people should have a right to say anything offensive they want to anyone, without caring/worrying about anyone else and shouldn't even care about others when "excizing" this "basic right".

And I would, because I have the right to.

And people shouldn't care/worry about "offending/hurting" other people if there really was "freedom of speech" for everyone. And everyone has a right to say anything offensive to anyone.

0_o Not everywhere in the world there's freedom of speech. You actually can get prosecuted and even the death penalty in some countries. That being said, freedom of speech is a right that only protects you legally.

People have the right to offend and be offended, does that mean they should? I guess that's everyone's own choice, but personally I don't mind putting some energy in not being a tactless jerk. Only worrying about yourself and whether you can be harmed in any way for what you're saying sounds a bit shortsighted to me.

But that doesn't mean I can't, yes (according to this "basic human right")?

I wouldn't recommend it in life but yes, you can say whatever you want and offend everyone if you like.

I imagine you'll make a lot of enemies and not make it far career-wise if you say everything that comes to mind just because you're legally allowed to do so, but go ahead. I wish you good luck with that. lol

because I frankly don't care about anyone else and their opinions of me and that's my basic right to say whatever I want
and the states should protect me if anyone's trying to rob me of that "basic right" to speak my mind bluntly even if it upsets anyone.

Says so clearly in the "freedom of speech" article in the American constitution.

Say whatever you want where? Around your country or on internet message boards?

So was this topic just an elaborate way to flip off DrLeftover and Princess Alexandros? :P

(Yes I used flip, not sure how strict this forum is on curse words :| )

Yep and no one should be sanctionned for "saying the wrong thing" here or because
it "upsets" certain people.

The thing about forums is, they are not America and they do not have to live up to America's motto of "Freedom of Speech." Forum staff can put a stop to members who are offending and trolling other members if they want to, and that's their right. So do you respect that right? :P

Even if forums ban you, they don't rob you of your freedom of speech. You're perfectly free to go offend people somewhere else.

Even if your server is on american soil it still has nothing to do with each other. Banning someone from a forum is much the same as ignoring someone in real life which obviously isn't punishable.

No, I don't even have to because my "basic human right" is being robbed from me. No forum staff has no right to manage their members "exercizing" that basic right in a community because
that's "full freedom of speech" and should let every member say anything they wish or
want or even troll anyone if they want (Now, that's according to "basic freedom of speech's right..."), lol.

How come whenever someone says some unpopular opinions about things to people they don't agree with, it's called "trolling/attacking"? And that's called everyone's "basic human right".

I love how you're ignoring the fact that it isn't robbing you of your rights. You can still start a blog, go to other forums, scream it to people right outside your house and nothing will happen aside for more pissed off people.

Because I shouldn't care about that either in a completely "free country" that allows that, that's my individual right being stolen from me by staff. Am I not right...?

Point is, you don't wanna get banned, don't act like a douche because a forum has every right to ban you and freedom of speech is irrelevant in that discussion.
