LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE!

Erhm...

Anyhow, I was reading this.

It's interesting because the government seems to lose one way or the other: either he's guilty and discrimination is more important or he's not found guilty and freedom of speech is more important. Both are constitutional and technically equally important.

So that raises the question, which one do you find more important and why?

What battle?

There are limits to free speech.

You want to call in a bomb threat. Is it allowed as part of your freedom of speech? No.

And that's where it started.

Speech that causes harm to another, either real or perceived is the same thing. And now, those with thin skins and no sense of humor are expanding the definition of 'harmful speech' every day.

Speech that is 'harmful' is defined by the 'victims' lawyers and the courts, and the media. Although maybe not in that order.

There is no debate.

In this case I believe freedom of speech wins. Everyday Asians are dissed for being horrible drivers and for some reason i'm just not bothered anymore. meh.

And became useless, didn't it? It doesn't exist.

How come they can do that anyway?

Unfortunately.

That's not right. There shouldn't be a debate, but there is.
