This article from last fall, in answer to a question from a forum user, may answer other questions as related to the subject at hand.

There's several core ideas there, not the least of which being that humans have some control over that intangible and eternal part of themselves termed 'the soul' in English, psyche in Greek, and so on. There is also the personification of evil called "Lucifer" in the Rolling Stones song and the "Devil" in the question, and a couple of dozen other things through history, which we can render in short, is he real and does he 'go shopping'? And then there a deep undercurrent to the whole thing, that we'll come back to.
And, then there is the surface question, which was the subject of a short story about Daniel Webster, which was a retelling of another story, which apparently was based on "Faust", which goes back to Esau and.... well anyway, moving on. And, of course, the legend about the Crossroads in Clarksdale, MS. And, so on. Could any of those really have happened? Did somebody at some point make that bargain for success in this world? And, while we're at it, can ol' Beelzebub deliver as per the contract IF you do make the sale?

When I was younger I had some experiences with the paranormal that pretty much made me believe and I still do to this day. I have a great interest in doing investigations however, I can't seem to find anyone else who wishes to do so.
When I was younger there is a place we call the third bridge. There is a lot of lore behind this particular place. The Sand Massacare that happened in Colorado happened around this area and a school bus full of children lost control and went off the bridge killing all of those in the bus. The story is that if you park your car in the middle of the bridge you will find hand prints in the dust that is left on your car on the back of it. There is also rumor of a blue jeep that races at you from the other side trying to keep you off it. I have parked my car in the middle and when I got home I found the hand prints on the trunk it was quite creepy considering everyone in my group was teenagers and not children therefore the hand prints were hard to create by any one of us.
While we were out there though we had met up with these two guys claiming to be "detectives" they had weapons and escorted a few of our group underneath the bridge and further down the creek. Next thing we know there is all of them running back and the two guys were firing at something in the tree. I swear on my life you could see these black figures chasing after them from tree to tree. I still am unable to disprove this or figure out what it was to this day.
You can believe me or not but I do know what I thought I saw.

It's always great to see those who believe and who are willing to find out the truth.

I always take everything with a grain of salt and do what ever I can in order to debunk what I have seen/heard/or felt. I take a very "scientific" approach to what I do. I put quotations to those because, there really is no sure way to do this.

I walked right up to the door frame. If you look there is someone standing there. The reason I went up there was a saw to little lights on top of each other. I mentioned it, someone said looks like a group member. I wanted to check for myself.

So I took a walk, I got right up to the doorframe there was nothing there. But as I walked a away something was thrown at me. Lol I did jump and scream out.

Everyone heard what was thrown. Not just me shouting out in shock.

Wow Poo....that's so exciting!!

Many years ago when I was in my late teens I got up very early to get ready for work, I was married at the time and living with my husband in a studio apartment, he was asleep and the light from the bathroom was illuminating the bedroom/kitchen/living room area...we had a hope chest by the wall near a window.

I glanced over to the window and saw a figure in what appeared to be long flowing robes sitting on the hope chest, I knew in my soul the figure was my guarding angel....just a gut feeling I had...I was not scared at all, in fact I felt comforted by his presence, I am assume it was a male because of the large stature....I looked over at my husband who was sleeping, when I looked back the figure was gone.


To this day I am convinced that figure was my guarding angel, I have lived a rough life...more so as a child/adolescent...I have been in very dangerous situations and was always protected by something. I believe the figure I saw that morning was my protector, I still believe this.


Another time, a few years after my father passed my daughter said she could see his face in the carpet in her room…later that day her camera, which was on her dresser started taking pictures of her by itself…the flash went off a few times, no one was near the camera…it really freaked us both out

Look at the door frame. That isn't a person in the group nor was there anyone there when I went to look at what was two lights.

It was only visible on camera.

It's the Fischer Theater in Danville, IL which is in the middle of a restoration effort.

It wasn't supposed to be a paranormal investigation. In fact, it wasn't, As you'll see in the essay, there was lots of other stuff to see.

Thought I might as well post up a few for those that would like to see something that is supposed to have been verified as being 100% authentic.

This picture was taken by the husband of the woman in the picture on a sunny afternoon with ordinary print film. They had just moved into their new home in Chicago, Illinois. In the window to the left of them clearly shows a older woman with her hair put up in a bun and a bulldog next to her. There was no one in the house at the time of the picture taking.

Not too much is known about the specifics of this photograph except the couple are now both deceased. To the right of the tree in the upper right-hand corner is a definite misty shape in the form of a human being

This photograph appeared in both the Chicago Sun-Times and the National Examiner. It was taken during an investigation in Bachelor's Grove Cemetery on August 10, 1991 with a group of GRS members. The picture is an enlarged black and white infrared shot taken of an area where many of the group noticed something unusual with some of the equipment they used. It shows a young woman sitting on a tombstone with parts of her lower and upper body being somewhat semi-transparent. The dress she is wearing is also out-of-date. It was taken by member, Jude Huff-Felz.

A black and white infrared picture taken at Hull House in downtown Chicago, Illinois by Dale Kaczmarek in November of 1980. This is enlarged blowup of the interior staircase of this most haunted house in Chicago. There was nothing visible to the naked eye when the photograph was taken but what appears are four distinct shadowy monk-like figures standing on the bottom four or five steps. The one directly in the middle appears to be dressed in monk's habit with his two hands together in prayer. There are two other figures to the left of the center monk and one to the right superimposed on the banister which apparently has no head
