Modern Coal powered plants can be very clean with today’s filters. We’ve got one in Orlando and the only the only thing it releases is steam

Hell, France is about as environmentally out there as Germany and about 70-75 percent of their power comes from - wait for it! - nuclear energy.
Without subsidies, I might add (unlike American nuke plants, who seem to live off the damn things).

Space heaters can really run your electricity bill up too. Sometimes almost as much as what's built in to your house.
