Nope. Theres a special squad called the armed respoce unit, but the average beat officers don't carry guns.

Erm.... I think it's something like 10 - 20 years... Don't quote me on that!

You have to be properly registered. And even then I think it has to be an antique gun or you have to have a hunting permit. And you have to get two people to sign to say that you are fit to own a gun.

Its not crazy guns can be used for the wrong reasons amercians gun crime rate is sky high compared to british.

People from the UK always give this pat response as if it is some incredible accomplishment on their part and a weakness on the part of Americans. Why is that? You don't have a choice about it considering owning guns is not an option to you. It's like comparing the availability of snow between the Antarctic and the Sahara. Snow just doesn't exist in one of those places.

You also never hear about the millions of gun owners who manage to make it through every day without killing or injuring anyone. That kind of story doesn't sell papers. If it bleeds, it reads; remember?

You also have to remember that England is about the same size as the state of New York. We have a lot more people. If England had more people they would probably have more gun crimes.

There was fox hunting but that was banned. There is hunting of game birds when they are in season, but other than that there's no other huntin'.

Bird hunting with no guns? How does that work? Have you reverted to the longbow?

I do not have a gun but I have fired my dads air gun & rifle, but I would love to join the police force.
