One time (years ago) I was banned because I joined a competitor forum and the ban message said "You're the competition and will probably poach our members."

I think twice.

One for defending a friend against an onslaught of aggression.

One for threatening to introduce someone's peehole to a drill.

And there's one I did totally on purpose but I'm not sure if they actually did ban me... Basically, the forum had become way too elitist and admins would publicly side with certain members and join them on flame wars against long-time contributors and newcomers alike, so I went on a terroristic, junk-posting campaign and left before they could react (but not before calling out the biggest offenders). It was fun XD

I've been banned for posting too much. Usually, it's a temp ban, but I never go back after that.

I was banned from the Simple Machines Forum support community once. Another member accused me of being someone else and called me a thief. They went around and told everyone I ripped him off on a theme design job. I've never designed themes. So, I made a website dedicated to exposing the guy. I used open-source intelligence and public domain to collect information on him to add to the site. I was banned for a few days, as was he, but they let me back in. That's when I quit using SMF. I think I handled it wrong, though, now. It just made me mad at the moment.

That's probably about it for me.

I haven’t been banned on any forums, but I’ve received some warnings.

Especially in my younger days of using forums.

I'm still banned from WHT because the guys changed my paid sticky thread title to remove a product I was selling because I was a moderator of the company's licenses I was reselling just because they had a deal on too. Because they wouldn't edit it back so I could get some income which would have covered by costs for the sticky thread, I did a chargeback and won.

I was banned from one forum in 2016, over a spat with one of its admins. I wasn't banned for long, thankfully.

Back in my younger days, I did get banned because I was being immature. While it was pretty easy to get banned there, I didn’t help the situation.

When I got older, it was mostly because the mods themselves are immature, or are power tripping.
