So what is the difference between you and a rock? This seems like an easy, even stupid question. But even the smartest people on earth have no idea where to draw the line between living and dead things.

By some definitions, FIRE is alive. It consumes, reproduces, etc.

One key aspect is that you can make a living thing NOT be alive any longer, but not the reverse. Which, as far as I understand it, is the core job description of GOD.

I think that OUR belief that our definition of "life" is IT, is a bit arrogant on our part, and, somewhere in the near future, it is liable to be rubbed in our faces.
