Let me think....yes. The problem w/mandatory minimums is that they take sentencing discretion out of the hands of the judiciary and puts them in the hands of legislators who seem to think they know more about the legal system than the judges themselves. They are, in essence, the legal version of school no-tolerance policies and are just as dumb.
