In my opinion, it's impossible to erase a memory. There will always be a song, a scent, a place, a name or a person that reminds you of your memory. Even though memories can be bad sometimes, they are a part of us for a reason. Memories makes us unique and we learn from them. Memories are to be cherished, not erased.

What I am is the sum total of my education and memories, driven by my intellect.
If any of those three factors were altered, I would not be the person I am.
So, I'll keep the bad and the good, and the painful, and go on.

Same here. I want to NOT remember anything from 2003. :glare:
In 2003 I was watching my first wife slowly die of cancer.
While those memories are.... unspeakable.
They have given me a much deeper understanding of what people go through in the end stages of terminal disease.
Which I have drawn on many times since then, including helping my current father in law deal with the loss of his own wife a couple of years ago.
Again, your memories help shape who you are. It may take YEARS for you to come to terms with them, but, eventually, even the worst may serve a purpose later in life.
