I read somewhere that men are generally more romantic than women even though many try to hide it. What are your beliefs/experiences with this?

The article that mentioned this talked about how many men feel that they fall in love quickly, suffer more during breakups, grieve longer, have an ex that they will never get over, etc. while women fall in love more slowly, are more likely to completely close the door on their past, and move on quickly after breakups. Honestly, I was surprised by this, so I would love to hear other thoughts about it.

Depends on what you consider romantic. What do they do in the relationship that is romantic? Cook dinner for their wives? Do chores around the house? Take her out for a wonderful night on the town? Tell her she looks beautiful and bring her flowers when you come home? I mean, it all depends on your idea of what is romantic. Yes, men may fall in love quickly, have a harder time grieving through the process, and maybe never getting over their ex, but I find that to be stupid and pointless. Then again, I am a girl so maybe that's just my unromantic nature. xD In any case, I hate it when a guy does all that romantic shit anyway. Makes me uncomfortable. It's one of the many reasons why I'm not in a relationship at all, plus the fact that I am terrified of commitment.

I think women fall in love more quickly and toss the 'L' word around sooner than a guy is ready to. In general.

suffer more during breakups, grieve longer,

That I agree with. I've been single and sad for a long while after a breakup while my ex's already went and had a couple more boyfriends since me. Well, not all of them, but a couple.

have an ex that they will never get over, etc.

Not true for me. I am 100% over and done with all my ex's. :)

I don't know, relationships are not always balanced, I think the one who is hurt more coming out of the relationship is always the one well who was the one who loved more.

it is the one who doesn't want the relationship to end is the one who gets hurt the most and that can be either the man or woman.

I don't agree with the grieving longer part, there are too many Paul McCartney examples out there where the guy is in his next relationship in no time at all. I think that women need closure more than guys do.
