As the Premier League has just started, I thought id make a official thread for talking about the results from the past weekened and any gossip that comes across my way. Please feel free to drops your own links and stuff regarding all talk premier league in here. I know a few of you guys are quite big fans of the Premier League so hopefully we can have some good discussion!

So after Monday Nights game, here were the results
Week-2-Prem.png

Probably the biggest talking point in Manchester United for all the wrong reasons as they get dismantled by Brentford. Is Ronaldo the problem? Your thoughts. Liverpools new wonder star sent off for a double attempt at a headbutt as they draw to a well oiled Palace side. A hotly contested derby as Spurs grab defeat by the hair and rescue a point. Were they lucky, can either of these two sides make a push against a Manchester City side who look to already have a settled Haaland in the squad. Everton continue to struggle, do you think they have the current players to survive this season? Along with wins for Aston Villa and Notts Forest, do both of these sides have enough to stay up this year? The remaining fixtures saw draws between Brighton/Newcastle, Southampton/Leeds and Wolves/Fulham.

Your thoughts on this weeks fixtures along with anything else Premier League? Anyone do Fantasy Football this year? Any sneaky signings you think will do well?

I watched that on NBC Sports and roared at their misfortune....guess who they get to face this week?

That's right, Liverpool. :D

United-Liverpool on the 22nd at Old Trafford.

Last year it was a 5-0 ass-whooping the Reds delivered to them; I think they can do it again.

Pretty much a 6 pointer for Liverpool already? Having drawn to Fulham and Palace?

United do need to give ETH time. And actually back him to do his own thing, dunno why they loaned out henderson. Surely he has better ball control and passing ability then De Gea?

If conventional wisdom is anything, it should be but as Liverpool's boss put it recently, don't expect them to treat it as a 6-pointer.

Fulham & Palace? Those are banana clubs; always trying to trip you up at the first opportunity.

(The Guardian) Jurgen Klopp took a swipe at Aston Villa striker turned Talksport contrarian Gabby Agbonlahor during his press conference this morning. Andy Hunter, our man on the Merseyside beat, has the latest.

Yeah I saw that xD
Some people just love to try and stay relevant after they should just quietly dissapear from the limelight...

Some good games on today, I am interested to see how Everton get agsint Forest today. Another defeat for them could really be trouble already.

Gonna be interesting to see how Haaland performs as the season goes on! I'm hoping for a continuation of Chelsea's run last year.

The Guardian: Klopp claims Liverpool should ‘get points’ if Old Trafford game abandoned

6000.jpg

Jürgen Klopp believes Liverpool should be awarded three points if their game at Old Trafford on Monday is abandoned because of protests against Manchester United’s owners, as happened 15 months ago.

Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford was postponed in May 2021 when United fans entered the stadium, closed at the time because of the pandemic, during protests against the Glazer family. The game was rescheduled for two weeks later, with Liverpool winning 4-2.

The United supporters’ group the 1958 is planning further demonstrations against the Glazers at Monday’s Premier League match but, should there be a repeat of 2021’s disruption, Klopp believes Liverpool should be handed victory rather than have to rearrange a game in an already condensed season.

The Liverpool manager said: “I really hope it will not happen but if it does happen I think we should get the points. We have nothing to do with the situation and if the supporters want the game not happening then we cannot just rearrange the game again and fit it in somewhere in an incredibly busy season.

“I don’t think it will and I really hope this won’t happen – I have no idea what could happen and I don’t think about it. People tell us we are fine, we go there and play the game hopefully and go home. But in a situation like this always the other team should get the points because they have nothing to do with it and they have prepared for it.”

Nice graphic, did you make that just for this thread on this forum? :)
Yeah, thought I'd make it look a lil official lol
1-1 draw if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah Everton got lucky with late goal, I think they are really going to struggle this season.

I doubt they will postpone the game.

Gonna be interesting to see how Haaland performs as the season goes on! I'm hoping for a continuation of Chelsea's run last year.

He has certainly hit the grounds runnning. Be interesting how Pep handles rotation on his squad. I was surprised Ake has played both games this season already. I know Laporte is injured but Stones?

For once, we weren't the better team.; United won 2-1...
This game was an absolute shambles of a game; not the Liverpool we know best. Tonight's game was embarrassing, we can play so much better than that.

Agreed. This score flatters us - United were simply the better side tonight.
That said, its' done; now we just gotta' shake it off and keep going.

Week-3-Prem.png

With Week 3 of the Premier League in the books. The weekeneds games threw up some interesting results.
Probably the main talking point was the game on Monday as Man Utd held on to get their first win of the season over rivals Liverpool. Does the win cover up the problems that Man Utd have or are they starting to gel under the new management? Ronaldo, Maguire and Shaw all moved to the bench, is that a sign of things to come? And what about Liverpool, where do they need to strengthen or improve on as the season goes along? Is selling Mane more of a miss then anticipated?
Man City grabbed a point to the ever improving Newcastle, are Newcastle showing their true potential against one of the best assembled teams in Europe that is Manchester City? Another shock where Chelsea where dismantled by Leeds, is there a team more desperate for a striker than Chelsea?
Outside of those games, Spurs got over the line against Wolves while Brighton win again. Palace and Southampton continue to improve but against a out of form Aston Villa and Leicester sides.

------

So who do you guys think will go down this season?
Anyone think there will be any blockbuster signings before the deadline?
Who is your top 6 for this year? Do Newcastle make that top 6?

Your thoughts!
