Well the left does hate strong leaders, personal freedom, self responsibility and any form of actual free speech as we have seen across the planet for two years. So this is a compliment.
And yet presidents like FDR and Lincoln (who'd be a Democrat by today's standards) are revered by most Americans despite some of the things they did.
FDR would definitely be a democrat today because he was one then and locked away all American Japanese in prison camps simply for looking a certain way. A true democrat!
