Sandy closes in on US East Coast

I live on the East Coast and it has been very crazy! Literally everything is closed, everyone is just boarded up in their houses! My neighbors tree was up-rooted actually.. the roots alone are taller than a 5 foot human! : O
I think I was mostly inside when Irene hit, but with Sandy, I've been out more and it's pretty surprising to see the tree's bend so much because of the strong winds!
I also saw two different lights in the clouds at around the same time... I thought it was lightning at first, however lightning is never green or orange. So I guess they must have been a transformer that was knocked down somewhere....must have exploded.
