I live in a fairly large city (population wise) but everything is spread out and we don't really have any tall buildings / skyscrapers. I've always wondered what it would be like to live in a major metropolitan city (like New York City).

I have lived alone for 10 years since the death of my mother. I wasn't allowed to leave home and was still living there when I was 45. I was little more than an unpaid slave.

I didn't have the best home life growing up. When my mom had me move in with my grandparents. My grandfather became my life coach. He helped me get a job and to start being responsible and taking accountability. My grandfather taught me a lot. Aside from the hard moments, It's been a good run so far. Once I got my own place, I didn't want to ever live with my parents again. You get a lot of freedoms when you don't live under someone.
