As some of you know, I've been out of work now for well over a year and a half. The Job Centre haven't been much of a help - sending me for stupid job's in stupid places over the hours I requested to work and in the areas a specifically told them I DIDN'T want to work!!

Anyway, had a call this morning from the pub down the road from us, said she wanted to see me today to discuss things with her. So, I went down to see her. She asked me what hours I was able to work, what time of day a preferred. So I told her daytimes.

I explained to her that I care for my sister in law and that my husband is also disabled. I then went on explain that my mother in law works till lunchtime and that I didn't want to leave my sister in law on her own as her father is also retired and disabled.

She then said asked me 'so lunchtimes would be better for you?' and to which I replied. 'yeah, preferably' At the moment she's all over the place with things as its busy this time of year. But, she has a few of them going back to University in a few weeks. So, until she knows where she's at, it could be a few weeks before I hear anything.

Anyway, she told me, when she has a few odd hours in the afternoons - like, 12-4 pm - available for me, she'll be in touch.

So, I could be earning a little bit of money soon, fingers crossed!!

That's great news Boogie and hopefully it will

lead to regular hours for you .

This is wonderful news! The hours sound ideal and it's great that the pub is so close to your home. I will keep my fingers crossed too for you.

OK, thought I'd give you guys a quick update on how my job search is going! I've had no luck with the pub up the road as of yet, but there is still time, Uni students don't go back until the end of September, I think... Anyway.. I've just asked my mother in law to pick up an application form for a Tesco which is opening up in a town called Seaton, about 10 minutes away from where we live. They're opening their new superstore in November. So, fingers crossed..

Thanks for the update! While there is still time to hear back from the pub, I'm glad you are getting an application for the new Tesco store. It's always good to have a back up in case on of the jobs falls through. Even if you started at the pub and then could get into Tesco in November, that would be good too. I like working for a big company like Tesco as it would seem the job security would be greater. At any rate, I wish you the best of luck no matter where you wind up working. I admire you for your perseverance and upbeat attitude!

I have to keep upbeat, I can't let any thing get me down any more. Life is about taking the rough with the smooth. What will be, will be and that's all there is to it.

You're 100% right and I agree with you! Sometimes it's easier said than done but with this attitude things will sooner or later sort themselves out.

Thanks guys for your wonderful support.

Handed in my application form for Tesco a few weeks ago, so hopefully I'll get a phone call for an interview soon. Fingers crossed.
