It won’t stop – the hurting and pain…
This age came... and it’s still the same.
Some days I fear for the next generation.
Who will raise their hand up?
Who will stand up when society hangs up?
Will they be afraid to feel and show their true colors?
Turn their backs on their own brothers,
Selling their souls to devil ,
So I ask:
When will it all settle?

Mercy benign,
Show me what you've been hiding behind –
This…
War, unrest, grievance, and fear.

Mercy benign,
Show me where you've been hiding behind –
In this vale of tears.

My heart bleeds to your heartstrings.
All the mourning and weeping –
When hearts connect…
In this vale of tears.

From toil to tears,
Disappointment crushes dreams.
Mouths made silent over the years,
Muted by centuries of screams…
Now a mutter is the only expression.
Down in the gutter there is only depression,
Confusion, aggression,
And constant tension.
Some try to call out for attention,
Unable to voice the pain, inside is where it rests –
Burning the still-beating hearts in their chests.

The pain is at times too much to bear,
Show me a way out of here,
Out of this vale of tears…

Mercy benign,
Show me what you've been hiding behind –
This…
War, unrest, grievance, and fear.

Mercy benign,
Show me where you've been hiding behind –
In this vale of tears.

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning
and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy toward us.
